Looking for an ocean get-a-way to enjoy those painted beach sunrises and salty evening breezes? "Family Tides" may be just the home away from home you are looking for! "Family Tides" managed by Dale and Salt Water Real Estate is a 2nd and 3rd floor apartment with sea sights, sounds, and experiences for the whole family. Beach-combing is just a hop and skip away and sun-seeking is an Ocean BREEZE from one of the homes numerous decks. Sun, Surf, and Salt await you on your CB adventure!
Your property
Pleasure Island (Carolina Beach, Kure Beach, and Fort Fisher) has become a RAPIDLY increasing vacation (and full-time!) destination for the East coast and beyond for many reasons. It’s a family-oriented beach with a touch of everything one might be looking for! It’s an AMAZING place to visit, live, and never leave!
The home is on the North End of CB and is a moderate walking distance to downtown and everything that is has to offer. In CB, you’ve got the boardwalk, restaurants, and local shops of all kinds. If you like adventures, the marina is also there where you can take an offshore fishing trip, diving excursion, or party boat out for a sunset sail. Camping more your thing? Bring the 4X4 and drive (and camp) on the beach at Freeman Park, located on the North End of the island. You can also head down to Kure Beach and fish directly off their fishing pier complete with bait, tackles, and more!
The entry to this 2 bedroom and 2.5 bath sandcastle opens into a newly furnished family room combined with an open dining area and fully equipped modern kitchen (stove + oven, refrigerator, dishwasher and more). The kitchen is stocked will all the basic cooking and dining utensils one can expect (plates, bowls, cups, silverware, etc.). In addition, there is a microwave, toaster, and coffee maker ready to help make yourself at home!
1 courtesy soap, shampoo and conditioner are left in the bathroom of each home as well as 2 rolls of TP per bath, 1 makeup wipe and one backup toothbrush. 1 roll of paper towel, a sponge, dish soap, 2 trash bags per receptacle and (*as applicable) 3 dishwasher and laundry pods will be available to use if needed!
As you walk by the breakfast bar, dining table, and living room sitting area, you're greeted by a slider onto a private balcony and outdoor dining space to get your dose of Vitamin Sea! As you head back towards the East side of the home, you pass the half bath and enter the vicinity of both bedrooms up one more flight. Bedrooms #1 and #2 each have their own full on-suite bathroom with respective shower stalls. The master bedroom also has its own private balcony to enjoy ones coffee or vino while sitting and enjoying those Atlantic Ocean breezes!
The home's TWO (2) Queen beds consists of either a plush luxury mattress or a new encased memory foam/cooling gel composition mattress because we want all of our guests to be comfortable when it comes time to recharge. The home's ONE (1) Full pullout has a standard 4" pullout mattress. 1 set of the following will be made on a per bed/per person basis to help you be comfortable on your adventure! Bed sheets (fitted/flat set), bath towels, wash cloths, cleaning rags, pillowcases, bathmats and kitchen towels. Laundering or extra sets are not an available service regrettably. Please make sure all used linens are placed in one location in the home at departure. Please let all BED LINENS remain on the beds for our TEAM to take care of! There is a 50” Smart WIFI TV along with a WIFI computer connection in the living room and a 42" TV in each bedroom for when it's time to sit back and enjoy some movies or shows after a long day at the beach!
Above all else, it should feel like your “home away from home” while vacationing with us on our Island!
Guest access
The HOME: Guests have full access to their own private SUITE and respective balconies.
The YARD: Guests have full access to their private and fully fenced backyard.
PARKING: Each reservation will have access to ONE (1) assigned 8'x14' garage space below the unit. Oversized vehicles (length or height wise) maybe have trouble utilizing the garage space. There IS a first come first serve townhome space directly to the left of your garage.

Neighborhood description
Pleasure Island is a coastal barrier island in Southeastern NC, USA just south of the City of Wilmington. Pleasure Island is located within Federal Point Township, in New Hanover County. The coastal resort towns of Carolina Beach and Kure Beach, as well as the annexed communities of Wilmington Beach and Hanby Beach are located on the island.
The home itself is approximately one block from the nearest beach access. The property is a moderate walk or short drive from downtown CB with its shops, activities and dining. Downtown KB is a hop and skip away with its fishing pier and aquarium. Carolina Beach is a mix of friendly locals, snowbirds, and vacationers all looking to escape the inland and enjoy the sand, surf, and sun. We truly have an amazing community!
CB and the surrounding neighborhoods offer an array of sights and activities to enjoy while here. Some of these examples are (but not limited to) a subtle beach hike through CB State Park, Fishing on the KB Pier, kayaking to one of the many islands surrounding the Intracoastal Waterway, watching canons blast during a historical reenactment at the Fort Fisher State Historic Site, or petting some Sting Rays at the NC Aquarium at Fort Fisher. This doesn’t even include the aweing scenery of Airlie Gardens, and our very own battleship (USS NC) in Wilmington! Perhaps more relaxing and less “adventure” is your speed? Our own local Brewery (Good Hops) along with a round of Frisbee golf may be what the doctor ordered!
Getting around
There isn’t anywhere or anything on our Island that isn’t accessible with foot power. Downtown Carolina Beach has several vendors such as Tony Silvagni’s Surf School @ 308 S Lake Park Blvd, Carolina Beach, NC 28428 (bicycles, paddleboards, surfboards, kayaks, chairs, and umbrellas) for rent as an alternative to walking or driving. There's Sun Fun Rentals @1204 N Lake Park Blvd Unit F Carolina Beach, NC 28428. Taxi’s (local golf cart taxi’s) and Uber’s are also generally available for an assist when needed as well throughout the island! You can catch a Ferry to Southport in Kure Beach @ 2422 Fort Fisher Blvd S Kure Beach which leads to another ferry to Bald Head Island where NO CARS are allowed at all!
After all, you won’t catch many locals going OTB! (Over The Bridge). Everything you need is right here!

I will be available for check-in and general assistance until 8PM EST. Anything with the exception of an emergency (ie. flood, fire, or another *safety* related risk sent to Maintenance) will be responded to ASAP the following day :)

Carolina Beach
The Town of Carolina Beach offers multiple public parking options to visitors and residents on a FIRST COME-FIRST SERVE basis. Town-operated parking is open year round and paid parking is enforced March 1st - October 31st from 9AM - 8PM. Parking fees restart each morning during enforcement hours for all of the Town's parking lots and on-street parking spaces.
PARKING RATES: *(Parking rates are approved annually and are subject to change) March 1st - October 31st, 9AM - 8PM Parking Lots $ 6/hour or $25/day Premium Parking Lots $ 7/hour or $35/day Bus, Limo, and oversized vehicle $10/hour or $40/day On-Street Parking: Without Time Restrictions $ 5/hour With Time Restrictions $ 5/hour Weekly Parking Permits $100 Available for purchase at Town Hall, the Parking Office (open 7 days a week) and online.
GOLF CARTS
•To the county, golf carts are considered automobiles. Generally speaking, golf carts are NOT allowed on premises of ANY condo, condotel, or apartment. The same goes for trailers, motorcycles, etc. For SFR’s or properties supporting multiple vehicles, carts should be OK. However, be conscious that few homes have external outlets WITHOUT GFCI’S (which are code by today’s standards). Charging a cart on a GFCI will immediately trip the breaker, resulting in the inability to charge a cart amongst other repercussions. Gas carts will generally be the ideal rental option if in a home whose parking supports such.
•ALL suites are non-smoking (including vaping) and a heavy cleaning/repair charge can result if not adhered to. This includes porches, decks, balconies, and walkways.
• SWRE contractual quiet hours begin at 9:00pm EST. Town ordinance may allow more latitude with regards to noise (11:00pm) but our expectations are to help ensure all guests, locals, and neighbors alike have an enjoyable experience.
•NO BBQing on ANY decks or porches. This is a huge fire hazard and is fineable by the town (as is removing batteries from any smoke or co2 alarms). We work extremely hard to keep all our guests safe, and sometimes that takes teamwork!
•Please always consider TRAVEL INSURANCE from your respective booking site or vendor to help protect your costs in case of inclement weather or last-minute travel complications (court, illness, etc.). These items are NOT refundable scenarios unless the property itself is compromised. If that does happen, we will do our absolute best to find you alternative housing.

Loved this place! Only wish the road leading to it was in better condition. Not a terrible walk to the beach. Definitely would stay here again assuming the town fixes the roads leading to it.

Great stay
We enjoyed it very much. Please had everything we needed: it was comfortable, clean and modern. Washer and dryer was a plus as well as a garage.Location is right around the corner from the beach and walkable to a couple restaurants in the area.We did have some ants in the bedroom, but it was noted in the welcome packet, so wasn't a shock.Would come back for sure.

Very nice property, booked for a family of five. Not enough towels or sheets to accommodate our family. Called property manager 2 days. Linen service did take care of problem. Upon checking in cleaning lady said someone would come weed whack back yard, very overgrown. Unable to use back patio/ grilling area and outdoor shower.

Awesome Accomodations!
Where to even begin! My family and I have stayed in our fair share of vacation rentals over the past few years and Family Tides beat them all! The pictures didn’t do the property justice. We loved that as part of the cleaning process, fresh linen and towels were folded and placed in each bedroom. We’ve run into instances where we weren’t sure if the bedding and towels were fresh….not a problem here!!! The property was clean and well appointed. Only a 5 minute walk to the beach so we didn’t have to pay for parking at all. Family Tides will definitely be our go to rental for our annual beach vacation.

Nice Property and Location, but hated the roaches, spiders, ants, and clogged bathroom sink drains.
This property is nice, well stocked but insects such as large roaches, ants, spiders with clogged slow draining bathroom sinks take away from it's charm. Needs more personal attention. We must have killed a dozen or more roaches and had to spray household cleaner to combat the ants. The welcome packet talks about the probability of insects, that they have the property sprayed monthly with natural products and even gives the roaches a name "Palmetto Bugs" which if you look them up, they are roaches.

We had a great time. Condo was super clean and nicely decorated. Having our own garage was definitely a bonus. Condo is a short walk to the beach and only few min drive to restaurants and boardwalk.
