Un’esperienza meravigliosa
Tutto é stato perfetto. La casa ha il fascino dell’antico casale con il comfort del moderno. La vista è spettacolare da ogni parte della casa e della piscina. Il relax è assicurato. Se ci fossero 6 stelle, le daremmo per la gentilezza e la disponibilità dei proprietari che pur essendo super discreti non fanno mancare la loro assistenza quando necessario. Marilia e Geremia sono rimasti nel nostro cuore. Grazie mille per tutto e a presto!

Authentic Italian Stay
We had a great 5 days in tuscany, shame the weather wasn’t onside for the last few days. The outside restaurant near to the villa was lovely, great food and great views. The 5 course dinner cooked by a chef for our special anniversary was arranged by the host and it was fantastic. The extra special touches were really thoughtful and thoroughly appreciated. We had a lovely evening. Thank you Marilia for being a lovely host. It was nice to meet you and stay at your place.

Lovely, homey stay
Marilia and her home were delightful. She was helpful and kind. Our children loved the quirky old home and the views were amazing. Castelfiorentino is a simple bedroom community with not much going on, but it’s a great location for being central to Florence, Pisa, Lucca and San Gimigiano. The local grocery store had amazing produce. We took the wine tasting tour and it was a highlight of the trip. Lucca, also, was wonderful for walking around and shopping for beautiful Italian goods at a great price. Getting around Florence was tricky and we don’t recommend the buses but the trains are simple to figure out.

Ideal Home in Italy!
Marilia the owner was the best I’ve ever dealt with on VRBO! She was so great and accommodating and even drove us home from Church on Sunday morning. We would all rate her 100 out of 100 if they’d let us. She even set up an Italian cooking class for us in the home!!! She even helped arrange transportation from the train station to her home. She is also taking English classes to help her communicate with us. She did great!

Beautiful location and home and wonderful host
This property is truly special. The view from the patio is impossible to capture in a photograph - every day it got even more beautiful. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook some meals at home. We also had several fantastic evenings at Chisco ai Renai. Marilia was a perfect host: responsive to everything we needed and had a great book of recommendations. We were sad to leave but have great memories of Tuscany, many due to staying at this magical place! Thank you Marilia!

Perfect Stay in Tuscany
My family and I (8 members, ages 25+ to 60+) had a wonderful stay at Marilia's villa and were sorry when the vacation ended. We all welcomed the relaxing atmosphere provided by Marilia and her family. Some highlights: 1. The cooking class: Marilia arranged for a local chef and her staff to teach us to prepare a typical Tuscan meal that included several appetizers, pasta, chicken cacciatore and dessert. Everyone enjoyed the lessons and the meal immensely. 2. The location: The views in the pictures provided in the booking are only exceeded by the reality. It was a treat to enjoy coffee and breakfast from the same spot shown in the booking photo. The villa is a short drive to town and perfectl or day trips. Our group went to Florence, San Gimignano, Siena, and Montelpulciano, although Pisa, Lucca, and Livorno are also within an hour's drive. 3. The atmosphere: Although we had an ambitious itinerary planned for each day of our stay in Castelfiorentino, we found that we enjoyed relaxing in the villa and around the pool more than driving to another city. 4. The host: Most importantly, Marilia is the perfect host. She and I communicated several times as the trip approached and she offered several helpful suggestions, arranged the cooking class, and reservations at local restaurants. She was always available for questions, but never intrusive. Everyone enjoyed their stay in Castelfiorentino. I would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful rustic Tuscan hilltop stay
Stunning location in the Tuscan hills. We could not believe how gorgeous the vistas were from this property. Marilia was so welcoming and friendly. The gardens are beautifully kept and the private pool was well cared for. We loved the huge space this property gave our party of 8 including 4 children 10 and under. The photos give you a good idea of what to expect. The kitchen area was really well equipped and we were able to cook wonderful meals for our families using the delicious local Italian produce. Perfect while travelling with kids.

3 generations and a beautiful garden
The location of the property is over two valleys with lovely views from every window. The garden was our favorite place with multiple seating spots so there was always a shady spot. We spent most of our time outdoors, either in the garden or at the pool which was fantastic with multiple seating spaces and again, lovely shade if you like. The water was also perfect. Marilia is an excellent host. She made sure that we had everything for our stay. My 94 year old mother-in-law was with us and Marilia put down security tape on the stairs and made sure she was in the room with the fewest steps and even added an extra step in the pool so that she'd feel secure getting in the pool which she used daily. The kitchen was perfectly equipped. We cooked a lot and even made jam. We went on afternoon excursions to the many villages within an hour radius: Certaldo (the old town), San Gimignano, Volterra, a bit further afield San Galgano and Siena, as well as Florence (we found parking easily enough at the train station). We were delightfully surprised by the green of this part of Tuscany. I had assume dry yellow hills in August, but that was not the case at all. We also visited San Miniato, a lovely town. Over a two week period we went to the Chiosco ai Renai, an outdoor bar/restaurant five times. The food is simple and the young woman who runs the place is delightful and welcoming. It's the closest eatery to the house and it felt like home. We had not realized how many steps there were in the house (and all of the toilets are upstairs) so we were a bit apprehensive at first, but everything worked out beautifully. Grazie, Marilia, for everything!

2 Weeks in August
We enjoyed our stay in this lovely rustic villa. It was well-equipped and very comfortable. The pool was a perfect size and was much needed for cooling off as the weather was very hot. The surrounding countryside is beautiful with easy access to interesting historic cities such as Florence, Siena and San Giminignano. Thank you Marilia, for being such a great host.

Very nice villa with fanatstic views
100% recommend this place. Fantastic views from the garden over the classic tuscany fields. Very nice pool area also with fantastic views. Only negative thing was poor wifi signal due to the walls of stone and a couple more baking trays to the oven would be nice. Other than that very very nice house.

We had a wonderful stay at this house! Marilia is a terrific host and was always available for advice and travel tips (she stays next door) - and for us it helped that her English is excellent! The house is large and authentically Tuscan with beautiful views over the lush hills from a generous balcony and carefully landscaped gardens. The pool is a real treat in a quiet setting also with views over the vineyards and olive groves. Quiet but not isolated, the house is only 10 minutes from the bustling market town of Castelfiorentino (a car is a must) with supermarkets and a choice of restaurants. A genuine Tuscan experience for all the family - we would definitely stay again and recommend without reservation!

Amazing views from the top of the hill!
We stayed in June 2022 and couldn't have asked for a better vacation home. The location worked great for us -- easy access to the local town (by car, not walkable), main roads and the towns and sites we wanted to check out. With the house situated on a hill, morning and evening views were spectacular from different vantage points and provided a lot of privacy. Everything was well maintained inside and outside. The pool and surrounding lounge area was great and allowed us to cool off every day! There is a lot of greenery and grassy areas so beware mosquitos, depending on the time of year you visit. Shout out to Marilia for the warm welcome, friendly smile and helpful advice! We loved our stay!

Tuscany at its best
We stayed for the month of May. The flowers were in full bloom. The house is centrally located to the main attractions in Tuscany. It is an easy train ride into Florence. Marilia was very helpful in organizing our wine tours and cooking classes ( which were held at the villa). Marilia is a very gracious host. She helped us with anything we needed. The house is well stocked with everything you would need to cook fantastic meals or sit on the deck drinking a glass of wine. The sunrises and sunsets are spectacular and will not be forgotten. The house is equipped with screens on all the windows making opens windows possible. We enjoyed the pool with covered deck as the temperatures heated up. Overall, we had a fantastic month!!! Wonderful time in Tuscan Countryside - Great Owner!
Four of us (myself, wife, mother and sister in law) spent 9 wonderful days just outside of Castelfiorintino. This is a classic Tuscan countryside home, with the downstairs space for the kitchen and dinning area, along with access to a private patio and a deck. Upstairs (the first floor) has a large living room with couch, loveseat TV and plenty of space, the bedrooms are all separated and give everyone plenty of space and privacy. There are 3 full bathrooms all located on the first floor. The kitchen is well appointed and we enjoyed sitting on the deck every morning enjoying breakfast with a fantastic view (it is Tuscany after all!) And made a few dinners (when we didn't feel like going out) and sat in the privacy of our own patio. The pool is across from the house (there's a dirt road separating the house from the pool area - requiring maybe a 30 meter walk). We loved the quiet country setting, and Marilla our host was fantastic and quite helpful with recommendations for dining and wine tour recommendations. We used the pool almost every afternoon after returning from touring the area and prior to going out for dinner in the evening, it was a wonderful way to cool off and relax. Overall, we had a wonderful time! I will provide 2 caveats to US travelers: 1. There is no AC in the house, but there are plenty of fans and we chose to visit in September when the days were warm, but the nights cool, so it wasn't an issue for us. 2nd, there are no bug screens on the windows, so for those who are 'mosquito bait', you will want to bring some means to protect yourself...again, it wasn't a show stopper, but good to know.

Countryside authentic and cozy home
This house in the countryside outside Castelfiorentino is the perfect location from which to explore Tuscany! The house itself is old-style but very authentic, clean and well kept! It is spacious and the kitchen has plenty of amenities! Marilia is also a super-great host! Communication was smooth and she was passionate in recommending activities to do in the surroundings! Highly recommended to everyone!

Schöner Ausblick, aber keine Privatsphäre
Leider kann ich mich den überschwänglichen Bewertungen hier nicht anschließen. Das Haus hat ohne Zweifel Charme. Die Ausblicke und die diversen Sitzmöglichkeiten sind ohne Zweifel das Highlight des Hauses. Die Betten sind bequem, die Küche gut ausgestattet. Der Pool ist schön eingewachsen und man ist für sich (allerdings einsehbar vom Parkplatz am Haus) Aber es gibt einige Einschränkungen, die man kennen sollte, bevor man bucht. Der Pool ist über die Straße!! Also nicht am Haus. Wir waren geschockt, als wir ankamen. Es gibt keine Pooltücher für die Gäste. Das WLAN ist eine Katastrophe. In der Dusche verlaufen an der Wand Stromkabel. Die Vermieterin ist sehr nett und kümmert sich, aber sie wohnt direkt nebenan. Sie und ihre Schwester laufen durch den Mini Garten (30qm) am Haus . Leider gibt es in FeWo keine Beschreibung zum Haus, in der das alles steht. Das würde ich der Vermieterin empfehlen...dann ist die erste Enttäuschung wie bei uns nicht so groß.

Good morning Sandra, I'm so sorry that for you it was a disappointment and that you didn't tell me anything! at this moment I don't remember you but until today I remember seeing only guests happy to stay at home, however it is true, the pool is across the street, I don't know if you had noticed that the house is a house of the 1000, built on the tuff, was a convent and in those days the pools were not contemplated, they had made a well instead of the pool with a large cistern underneath, a swimming pool was not conceivable there and not even on the back side because we are on a ridge, it was hard to think of making a pool outside the kitchen door instead of the table. We did the swimming pool across a dirt road a few meters from home, where the sun sets, I don't see it as shocking but I'm really sorry if you were so upset. For towels, I don't know, I don't go to holiday homes so I didn't know they provide pool towels, thank you for the advice, I can definitely fix it. Then I wanted to reassure you, the wires in the shower have obviously been secured, even here in Italy to be able to rent a house you need a technical report that certifies that the system is up to standard. I live in the house next door, I don't usually go through the garden of the house. My sister does not live with me but lives in Sardinia, she has been here for two months due to a big health problem of my father, we "walked" in your garden for emergencies but I really apologize if we have bothered you and for having brought you this great disappointment. for the wi-fi you are right, I have changed many suppliers and even the one now sometimes does not work here, even for such big walls, I will have to put the dish! thank you for your notes which I will take as important advice .

A delightful experience
A beautiful location, ideal for daily trips around Tuscany. We were an Italian a group of 8 adults. The perfect place if you just want to relax by the pool, barbecue and enjoy the surroundings. The house is very spacious, with all the amenities and a comfy outdoor table and little garden. I would highly recommend an aperitivo/dinner at Chiosco ai Renai - you don’t even need a car, it takes 15 mins walking between beautiful fields of olives tree. Marilia is the perfect host and she is always available if you need info or support.

Wonderful!
We had two great weeks in La Canonica. The house is a typical Tuscany building furnished with much care and breathing local colour. Marilia was a really friendly and helpful host. She lives on the premises but you hardly see her, but whenever we had questions or needed help she was there right away. Thanks a lot again! Of course it was great to have the pool, we spent quite some time there because of the heat we sometimes couldn't be bothered to make excursions. As others have already described the house is very nicely located on a hill with great views on the surrounding landscape an great sunsets. Castelfiorentino is a five minutes drive away, it's a lovely little town, not too touristy, with an unpretentious historical district, a few restaurants and a good supermarket. You are mostly surrounded by Italians.

Ferienhaus mit besonderem Charme
Auf einem Hügel nahe Castellfiorentino, liegt dieses bezaubernde Haus, das uns in unserem Toskana-Urlaub sehr viel Freude bereitet hat. Auf zwei Ebenen verteilen sich die Ess- und Schlafbereiche, wobei das Herzstück des Hauses definitiv die große Essküche mit direktem Zugang zur Terrasse ist. Modernen Kitsch sucht man hier vergebens. Es sind die liebevollen Details, welche man im ganzen Haus und Garten findet, die einen nie vergessen lassen, dass man sich tatsächlich in der Toskana befindet. Besonders danken möchten wir unserer Gastgeberin Marilia. Selbst die Unterbringung unserer drei Hunde und die Sonderwünsche unserer Kinder, waren für sie kein Problem. Hilfsbereit halfs sie uns bei Fragen (auch auf English) und fand selbst bei technischen Problemen schnell eine Lösung. Eine tolle Person - ein tolles Haus - ein toller Urlaub!

Wonderful few days in Tuscany
We really enjoyed our stay in Castefiorentino. Mari was attentive, helpful and discrete. We were the first guests this year and so the pool was not open as the weather was not hot enough, we instead enjoyed the open fireplace in the kitchen to stave off the spring evening chill. Gorgeous views and a lovely place to come back to after visiting the delights of Florence, Siena, Lucca etc. Thoroughly recommend .

A great authentic property in a beautiul location. It has ne of the best views in Toscane you will ever have! Nice swimmingpool with lost of separate terraces. Lots of privacy and the owners are not in sight. Recommended!

We stayed at this property for nine nights, and I wish it could have been more! The house was great, and the views from EVERY window were breath-taking! The owner, Marilla, was very sweet, and helpful when we asked for information on the charming town and suggestions for places to visit. We would definitely stay there again!

Traumhafte Zeit in der Toscana
Wir durften in diesem schönen großen Haus eine traumhafte Woche genießen. Auf einem Hügel gelegen, mit herrlichem Ausblick war es für uns der ideale Ausgangspunkt für unsere Ausflüge nach Florenz, Pisa, Livorno und San Giminiano, etc. In dem rustikalen typisch toskanischen Haus war jedes Zimmer wie auf den Abbildungen zu sehen, mit viel Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet. Die Küche ist funktional eingerichtet, Gasherd und Geschirrspüler, kühl-Gefrierschrank sind vorhanden. Das Highlight ist ein riesiger offener Kamin, der nach Aussage der Vermieterin funktionieren würde. Leider haben wir es in der einen Woche nicht geschafft es zu probieren. Die Vermieterin und der Vater wohnen separat auf dem Grundstück, diskret aber sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Zum Beispiel den Tip per Zug nach Florenz zu fahren. Direkt bis in die Altstadt. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten sind im Ort vorhanden, auch ein großer Supermarkt. Den Swimmingpool habe ich trotz der Wassertemperatur von 20 Grad noch genutzt,wir waren Anfang Oktober dort,sehr erfrischend.😎 Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt, und werden sicher wieder einen Aufenthalt buchen. Nur eins, wir reden hier über ein Landhaus und nicht über ein Business Hotel.

Relax in a peaceful serene setting!
We really enjoyed our stay at Marilia’s home. This is the quintessential Tuscany house built centuries ago on a monastery. It is a large home with everything that you need to relax in a peaceful serene setting with family or friends. The two highlights of our stay were the spectacular views from the terrace and the warm welcome from Marilia!

Attention, publicité mensongère ! Il faut traverser la rue pour accéder au jardin avec la piscine... Cuisine et salle de bains archaïques... Propriétaires omniprésents habitant au rez de la maison (derrière une porte): vous pensez louer une maison mais vous n'en louez qu'une partie... Je n'avais pas vu votre critique et je suis désolé parce que vous n’avez pas évidemment noté que dans la description de la maison, on avais écrit que nous y vivons. Sur le site, il y a des photos des salles de bains et de la cuisine et du coût que vous avez vu avant de louer la maison, vous avez également eu l'option d'annuler la réservation deux mois avant vos vacances, je ne comprends pas bien votre critique. Mais je pense que vous avez raison de choisir un hôtel ou une nouvelle maison, sûrement plus adapté à votre goût. Je n'ajoute rien d'autre, mais je vous assure, que je n'imagine pas un comportement plus gentil que ce que nous avons adopté avec vous 😊

Parfait !
Location en haut d'une colline dans une maison typique ! Dépaysement garanti. Superbe panorama. Très belle piscine. Marilia et son père nous ont tres bien accueilli. Tout au long de notre séjour, Marilia était toujours disponible et tres réactive. La location est idéalement situé pour visiter les grandes villes ainsi que les villages fortifiés à moins de 50 mn de route en voiture ou de train. Vraiment une bonne adresse à garder !!!

het paradijs op aarde
De afgelopen jaren hebben we al heel wat mooie huizen gehuurd in Toscane, maar dit huis was subliem :-) Het ligt op een heuvel, maar de toegangsweg is geasfalteerd en heel goed te doen. Vanuit de tuin heb je een adembenemend mooi uitzicht over het Toscaanse landschap. De tuin heeft veel romantische zithoekjes met overal de bedwelmende geur van jasmijn. Het huis zelf is heel groot en heeft dikke muren waardoor de warmte goed is te verdragen. Alles wat je nodig hebt is voorradig. Tot een elektrisch koffiezetapparaat aan toe. Wat ons ook opviel was het feit dat je ondanks de warmte 's avonds totaal geen last hebt van muggen. En dan het vrijliggende zwembad..... wow, wat geweldig was dat! Ook hier diverse zitjes met lekkere ligstoelen. Pal in de zon of juist in de schaduw. En dit alles voor alleengebruik van de huurder. Als bonus ook hier weer een adembenemend mooi uitzicht over het Toscaanse landschap. In de omgeving is heel veel te zien en te doen, maar wij vonden het zwembad zo verrukkelijk dat we er niet bij weg te slaan waren ;-) Veel bloeiende planten en struiken rondom met honderden vlinders en hagedisjes en een dennenboom vol spelende eekhoorntjes. Op het westen gesitueerd. 's Avonds genoten we hier met een fles wijn van spectaculaire zonsondergangen. Zoals gezegd: het paradijs op aarde. De eigenaren en hun dochter bewonen het andere gedeelte, maar zij hebben veel respect voor je privacy en zijn tevens erg aardig, rustig en behulpzaam. Kortom, echt een aanrader.

Very spacious. Located on a quite (isolated) hill top. Beautiful view. Authentique decoration..
We were there at the end of may. Low season, but at the same time, beautiful weather. What struck us most, were the super quite surroundings (You only hear the sound of the swallows). And that was exactly what we were looking for. The villa itself is huge. We haven't counted the number of square meters, but you defenitly won't have to worry about space. The garden in which we had breakfast every morning is located in the sun and has a stunning view. It gave us an extreme sense of relaxation. The pool is just across the (unpaved) street and takes you 30 seconds to get there. You don't need to worry about traffic, because there hardly isn't any. Castelfiorintino is the closest village, but don't expect typical tuscan style there. For that, we went to Certaldo (the old city), which we discovered by accident because we could see it from the national route. It's a really lovely village which has the typical tuscan feeling. Nice restaurants as well. Overall, we had a really nice time and we would definitly recommend it to other people. You can't go wrong with this home!
