“Lovely house, super clean and comfortable. Kitchen really well equipped, everything needed for a stay, milk and orange juice in the fridge on arrival. Perfect for our dog, Freddie, too. Wish we could have stayed longer! ”

“We did not receive the check-in details via e-mail so could not check in and ultimately not stay overnight. The phone number that was with the booking was supposed to be a helpdesk with the operator being anything but helpful. We had a look for help at the property but could not find anyone on two separate occasions; we were also astounded to discover that the accommodation was in the middle of a wedding venue and NOT the wedding we were attending. We did manage to find a mobile number for...

“We paid a premium price for a very standard room. Double bed with hard pillows. Very dated in the decor and furnishings. I was disappointed with the whole experience. Set menu for the evening was very pricy and was underwhelming. Breakfast was what saved the day, nice ingredients, great selection. Staff were friendly.”

“Manager very attentive upgraded rooms because of an issue with air conditioning. Small fridge would have been a bonus but everything we needed in all our rooms, extra water and condiments in hallway. Fresh fruit was a nice touch. Restaurant was 10/10. The only disheartening incident was being refused Scottish bank notes, it is legal tender, definitely not the welcome we expected. Scotland is still part of the United Kingdom.”

“Excellent accommodation, clean, tidy and close to Southwell. Easy parking and nice touch with snacks and drinks you could buy. Tea/coffee facilities, nice en-suite. Host was very receptive, we left an iPad in the room, and they kindly posted it back to us . Thank you”

“The price at the bar was horrendous £11 for a glass of pressecco and £8 for a pint of lager. Thers no need to charge this much with the volume of people going to a wedding. They have got your pants down really. Needs to be better signage for each wedding party as guests were in the wrong wedding. The furniture in the wedding venues very poor ...chairs were so wobbly not safe at all. The hotel itself is lovely the rooms are spacious clean and a very comfortable bed. Breakfast was really nice ....

“Convenient location and clean. Easy checkin with the key available from pub across the road. Had unusual single cup kettle and coffee maker and good selection of teas and coffees. Lights and bathroom tap were on timing sensors and both were a bit annoying particularly the tap when you were trying to fill a jug for the kettle. Bedclothing was a bit tired and there were only 2 fairly flat pillows on a standard size double bed. The thing I really didn’t like though was the musty smell of bedding...
