“Great hostel situated in a nice neighbourhood, 5 minutes walk from the centre including the supermarkets and bus terminal (the centre is frankly not as pleasant as the suburbs). Rooms have secure key codes, and lockers are situated in the communal kitchen which is large, clean and well equipped. Everything was good. Would recommend.”

“I have traveled in many countries and slept in numerous hostels around the world and this is one of my all time favourites. The owner is absolutely amazing and super helpful. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. The location is good and the dorm room was nice and clean. I recommend this place very much!”

“Despite being a little mix-up on room type, Adrian (the owner) did all he could to make it right and I had a very pleasant experience. Their hospitality was amazing and the room was comfortable. I had to work one afternoon and the internet worked great. The lounge/common areas were very comfortable and the kitchen had everything you would need. The only thing I would recommend is that if you book through a 3rd party (like Hotels.com) to call and confirm your room type in advance. ”

“Great place to stay to visit Monteverde. It a good deal in this touristic area. The room was clean, so the shared bathroom was. Easy self parking on site and the hotel is walkable for the center of Santa Elena. ”

“Great hostel in the heart of La Fortuna, situated 40 metres from Selina Hostel and 2 minutes from the bus terminal, main plaza and supermarkets. The kitchen is exceptionally well equipped and the entire ambience of the place is calming and cozy. WiFi was great too. Note though that the 9 bed dorm consists of triple bunks.”

“Be sure to calibrate your expectations: this is not a luxury apartment. It was, however, an excellent value. While the building wasn't new, the room was well-kept. We were able to find parking each night on the street in front, but had to relocate the car closer one night. The owner is helpful and friendly, and the included breakfast of fruit, eggs, and gallo pinto was solid (especially at this price point). ”

“Very friendly and accommodating host - Marleny and family. Clean and friendly place with much information about local tours, eating places, and organized transport to and from San Jose. Great kitchen facilities! and Marleny prepared us a delicious breakfast, for US$7. Comfortable rooms and very clean. The location is noisy on weekends, especially at night, with passing traffic on the main road.”

“Hostel Selina is a cute spot way up in the mountains with a great common area, hot tubs, a library/reading space, kitchen and yoga studio. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would certainly return our next trip here!”

“This is an outstanding place to stay. Everything was very clean, and the place is as advertised. There are 2 rooms on the bottom floor (with their own bathrooms). This area was great to give our teens some of their "own" space. We had 2 families with us, and there was plenty of space / beds for everyone.
