Very quite place way back from noise and business of city life. We were very busy with what we were doing but the campground around us looked peaceful. The cabin seemed newly built and had new furnishings. The only thing that was missing was a normal sized shower. The shower was very tiny and for the money it was overpriced. Other than that it was a good deal.

Perfect get away
My family and I were traveling to WV to take my son to the University of Charleston and this was the perfect place for our family. Tons of room, clean and very quiet. Only thing that this place didn’t have was internet access which made it hard for us to have cell service but other then that it was just perfect and we will be returning!!!

Relaxing weekend
The cabin was gorgeous other than the super small shower. Beds were comfortable especially the fuzzy blankets. Has older smart tv with antenna but no signal and no Wi-Fi or cell service for that matter. There were multiple hornets nests on the porch with huge hornets. Need to update the provided cookware. Wasn’t too thrilled about the dead goose floating in the pond. But overall not a bad experience.

Perfect place to unwind and rejuvenate! Set-up to cook your own food and restaurants within a 20-minute drive. Baby ducks were fun to watch!

Excellent Small Cabin in Great Area
The only reason I do not give this stay 5 stars is (1) the water smells horrible. My husband and I both are originally from WV and we know the smell of well water, but this is more like stagnant pond water, (2) there is no internet access whatsoever, and (3) the tv comes and goes. Except for the shower (I am 5’3” and 120 lbs) you cannot move inside it is so tiny, the cabin itself was clean, warm (it was zero with a high of three degrees), and plenty of room for two people. Plenty of hot water, the bed was cozy and the area is safe. Well priced. We stayed five days over Christmas and they had a cute decorated Christmas tree when we arrived. Even with water, internet and tv issues, we will book again when we visit family.

Beautiful Scenery and Pond View Cabin
Outside of our cabin porch viewed a beautiful lake with bountiful waterfowl and a cozy church on the hill. very clean cabin with good amenities for a good price! Property manager Kim made herself available to us and has a great cabin. enjoyed relaxing and watching DVDs at nighttime! would recommend, far from big stores and stuff but it's Kenna WV that's what you come here for

Beautiful and peaceful
We stayed here for one night on our way thru wishing we had booked for several more days. This cabin on a lake is like a little slice of heaven. The property is beautiful and serene. I hope to make it back here someday. Everything was better than described.

Super Cozy

Short getaway weekend!
We loved our stay at this cabin. The beautiful lake view and all the local wildlife was a treat each day. We found it to be a perfect distance from downtown for our exploration of the area. Check in was easy and the staff was friendly and helpful. Highly recommend this property.

We had no complain at all about the property. It was great and we enjoyed it very much. We only had issue with how hard it was to get there if it was raining or foggy. We had to leave early because of a family emergency but we enjoyed the place

Little slice of Heaven
We booked this cabin on a whim after not being able to find somewhere to stay for our quick visit to Charleston, WV. It ended up being one of our favorite places we've ever "camped"! The peaceful setting is absolutely beautiful, and it was so quiet that our kids made us stop talking for 10 seconds to hear...nothing!! ;-) Also, the quaint chapel reflecting on the lake was just asking to be photographed!! The cabin itself was extremely clean, and the beds were very comfortable. The manager & owner were very sweet and welcomed us with big smiles. We loved being able to explore all around downtown Charleston and Kanawha Forest, and then come back to sleep at our sweet, comfy cabin. Waking up to the fog on the lake was a great way to start our day. We definitely hope to come back here in the future!!

Very nice cabin plus porch overlooking small lake . Ducks , geese , deer to be seen . Very quite campground when we were there . Friendly owners and ground keepers to answer any questions you may have . Will stay again .

Quiet and beautiful
A little “girls getaway” was just what my sister and I needed and this cabin fit the bill. The lake was beautiful and the people were kind and helpful. My only complaint would be that the listing states there is internet, which there is NOT, so that coupled with the lack of cell service, we had a hard time checking in with our husbands we left back home.

Beautiful pond and surrounding area
The cabin was clean and the kitchen well stocked. You should know this is part of a camp ground. It was very quiet except for the constant mowing. The long, covered porch on the cabin is very nice and faces the pond. The beds are comfortable and it stayed plenty cool inside.

Awesome little place!
We had a great time at the cabin. It was very clean and we loved the layout of the cabin. My husband, son and a friend fished in the pond, they enjoyed themselves. Would definitely go back again!

This was a lovely cabin, clean and the people were very friendly. Everything was ready for us. There was nothing to tell us we had to be there by a certain time to check in so I'm glad we caught the manager before they left. The website said there was wifi but found out there was only a signal down by the office, not usually a big deal but had to get some work done and was expecting the wifi. Overall would recommend this location, and stay here again. Beautiful. Thank you

Perfect place to get away for Peace and Quiet and read a book
We loved the cabin. It was stocked and clean. The area was nice and clean as well. The pond was beautiful with the geese and ducks. It was such a needed break to sit on back porch and watch the birds. The only thing that it could use is ceiling fans in the bedrooms. It will keep them cooler. I am glad I brought my box fan. And I didnt bring a hairdryer since most of the time they are provided anymore. The owners or the people running the place are super as well. I would love to have a place to go like that every weekend.

Quite getaway
1st of all, the beds are super comfortable. Best sleep ever. You had everything you need at the cabin. Lake is beautiful lite up at night. Wish internet was available inside cabin and that more channels came in than two for when it rains. Everyone was very nice. Great place to stay.

Tranquil Setting with Modern Conveniences
Our Girl Scout troop chose the Amish Built Cabin for our 4 days in Charleston. We generally used the cabin as our home base, venturing out on day trips in the area. Morning walks along the lake path and a cup of coffee on the porch/deck while watching the swan and geese proved to be a beautiful way to begin each day. We were greeted warmly and helped eagerly by Kim and Mark. We were somewhat disappointed (two 18 year olds in our group) that the WIFI didn't extend to the cabin. The window unit AC was effective and quickly brought the temperature down to a comfortable level. We also used the on-site laundry next door to the cabin and appreciated this feature! Future guests should know that the water does have somewhat of a sulphur smell. The cabin is charming and equipped with the basics needed in the kitchen. Ziplock bags would be a thoughtful addition! Hangers would also be convenient for guests. Overall, this was a great get-away for us and we would highly recommend this site!

Bucolic stay
Very peaceful stay with friendly neighbors. The lake with free fishing was a plus! As we were in the mountains, the cell coverage was not great, and the wifi only near the office, not available in the cabin. Overall we had a wonderful time. All of the people involved with the campgrounds were SOOO friendly!!

Exactly what we needed
We arrived and were greeted my friendly staff who showed us to our cabin. We walked through the doors to exactly what we expected. The place was clean and spacious. Definitely recommend if you have an event in the area and are looking for an alternative to a hotel stay.

We had a great time. Kim is great and is accommodative of our requests ( we didn't know there was a grill when asked they offered and brought a charcoal grill right away) so quiet and beautiful view for a weekend get away.

Peaceful and Hospitable
This was a short weekend stay, and the property is perfect for that. You have a bird’s eye view of the pond, and people fish there all day long. The property manager could not have been more gracious or hospitable; my young adult son injured himself, and she came to find us and ferry us back to the cabin on her golf cart, secured an outdoor grill for us, etc! There isn’t a great deal to do on property and the pool is closed, but if you want serenity, gracious hosts and a serene view (pond, fishing), it’s fantastic. We had a great time!!!! The cabin is pretty and well stocked, you can cook. (Add a long knife for watermelons, etc.) Perfect for a brief weekend stay.

Location is beautiful
Staff are wonderful people! Location is out in the middle of nowhere which was exactly what we wanted, my husband was able to fish anytime he wanted and he did that!

the only 2 issues we had was with the covid The swimming pool wasn't available with the heat not much to do there. Not enough towels for our length of stay. The cabin is beautiful!! Would recommend to anyone .

Great place for families!
This was a cozy little cabin big enough for our family of 6, but small enough for spending quality time together. The campgrounds were beautiful for walking by the pond and relaxing on the porch. It was just out of town enough for privacy, but close enough to enjoy time in Charleston. We will be back soon!
