“This hotel is just OK. It truly feels like it was a beauty in the 80s and 90s and now time has just passed it by. The former pool is closed and the accompanying rooftop patio is blocked off. The parking garage is a little on the sketchy feel. And, while not the hotel's fault, the abandoned lot where the old mall used to be across the street doesn't do anything to help. “This property was well managed and very clean. Breakfast was a nice start to the day. In a good area with restaurant options as well.”

“We have been staying at this hotel at least twice a year for 8 years. The staff are always welcoming, kind and helpful. My complaint is that new ownership (we were told this by staff) has taken over and the cost of the rooms went up significantly. The cost has outpaced the return and sadly — we will find another place to stay in the future. This is not a reflection on the staff — they are and have always been great.”

“I was having surgery so I couldn't have breakfast but my husband went down and breakfast was being served and he said everything was good and hot. As for the staff, not impressed. She was taking a reservation on the phone and didn't bother to say I'll be right with you and when she got off the phone didn't apologize for my wait. “Clean room and comfortable beds”

“All the staff (regardless of what time of day you interacted with them) were very pleasant and got along with one another. The longevity of their time working for The Super 8 in Dunbar is a testament to how they’re treated by management. I stayed at the other 2 hotels in Dunbar and the owner has a big turnover of staff. If you like black mold and questionable bookkeeping (ie., billing inflated) don’t reserve at the Super 8. If you like clean rooms and honest billing then the Super 8 is the place...
