Situato a breve distanza dalla costa del Northumberland, l'Etive Cottage è un'incantevole casa vacanze indipendente a un piano con un giardino recintato appositamente progettato per gli animali domestici. "Dai ai tuoi cani la vacanza che meritano" è il motto del proprietario e fino a quattro cani ben educati sono più che benvenuti a Etive. Situato dietro cancelli elettrici e con parcheggio custodito fuori strada, questa struttura si trova sulla A1, che vi porterà verso nord nella storica città di Berwick e oltre o verso sud fino alla storica Alnwick e ai suoi graziosi villaggi limitrofi. Mentre la città di confine di Berwick è conosciuta come "l'ultima città in Inghilterra", Alnwick è famosa per i suoi antichi castelli, i suoi giardini e le sue strade acciottolate. Questa parte del paese attira visitatori da tutto il mondo per assaporare il suo paesaggio naturale e godersi alcune delle numerose attività all'aperto locali disponibili nella zona. Anche le località storiche hanno un posto di rilievo in quanto sia il Castello di Bamburgh che l'Isola Santa di Lindisfarne sono nelle vicinanze. Gli amanti della natura vorranno andare alla scoperta delle isole Farne (raggiungibili in barca stagionale dal villaggio di Seahouses) per vedere le colorate colonie di pulcinella di mare. Spiaggia 9½ miglia. Negozio 1 miglio, pub e ristorante ¼ miglio.

We really enjoyed our stay at Etive cottage.

We really enjoyed our stay at Etive cottage. When we first got to the cottage we were a little concerned at how close to the A1 it was. Can honestly say it was not a problem at all, we slept like babies. There were electric gates which were easy to use. On our arrival we were pleasantly surprised, the smell of baking bread, the owner Susannah had put a loaf in he bread maker timed so it was ready for our arrival, there was also milk, eggs, butter and a delicious cake, a really nice touch. There was even doggy biscuits for our Cavapoo, Lenny. Lenny made himself at home immediately. The kitchen was well equipped. The cottage itself was very cosy. There was a secluded area at the side of the cottage for Lenny so he had his own safe outside space. We were in an ideal place to visit, Seahouses, Bamburgh, Alnmouth with great beaches for Lenny to run around off lead. Susannah recommended a few places to visit also places to eat. We went to the White Swan in Warenford for a meal, absolutely delicious, definitely not pub grub, a little bit more expensive than pub grub but worth every penny. Susannah also recommended places to eat that were dog friendly. There is a Co Op in Belford a 5 minute drive away. Other big supermarkets are in Alnwick. We would definitely stay at this cottage again and also eat at the White Swan. Thank you Susannah and James.

Lovely homely cottage with everything catered for right down to doggy pampering equipment & treats. Only drawback was being right on the main road but once safely inside, definitely one of the nicest properties we have used. Susannah & James were very friendly & helpful. We had a very good 2 weeks with plenty of sunshine & explored both coastline & inland. Our dogs really loved the huge beaches, particularly Alnmouth & Bamburgh. Just returned from a lovely week at Etive cottage. Our 4 spaniels really enjoyed the beaches and forest walks. Really nice cottage and lovely welcoming hosts who really loved dogs. Lovely hosts and a perfectly equipped clean cottage. Susannah & James have thought of everything for dog owners and deserve great credit. Cake & newly baked bread on arrival a lovely touch. The cottage is situated on the A1 so road noise is a slight concern but having said that, you are perfectly placed to visit all the wonders of beautiful Northumberland. Great countryside abuts the property which is great for walking your dogs and a really nice pub a short walk away. All in all we loved it and wish the owners every success in their new venture. Would definitely recommend as it is close to lots of places to visit such as Bamburgh Castle, Seahouses, and Holy Island. There is a great pub down the lane called The White Swan, which has friendly staff and serves great food, it is also dog friendly well worth the 5 to 10 min walk.
