Nice hotel location nice area

Stayed one night very warm welcome comfortable bed. Room facilities good. Did not eat but does smell sounds amazing

Poor value

The website makes it sound a special place. Not in our experience. Room very small, and up 2 steep staircases. . They ask extra charge to bring wine inot room, or for each hour of early arrival/late echeckout. We felt pressured to commit to a breakfast time rather than just an interval. (Perhaps this was a misunderstanding, and they just wanted to avoid busy time for the small room).. The inkeepers didn't seem to have a friendly touch. Breakfast was OK, not as gourmet as we expected from the website.

Visit to chatsworth house

We stayed at the hotel for one night only as part of a two day visit to chartsworth house. Overall hotel room and service were ok. Room clean and quite comfortable. I would have personally appreciated some amenities in the bathroom and more options for breakfast. Continental breakfast was provided but not many things included as most of the hot stuff was charged an additional 4.50 pounds per person, even a bowl of porridge! Apart from this the rest was ok for a 3 star.

my wife and i like to see old houses we wanted a place local to chatsworth the buckinghams filled the bill it was clean , friendly , and obviously a family run hotel.all i can say on the food is excellent we had the most amazing meal called a chefs special , you tell the chef what you don like and he does a meal to suit , i will say that until it is in front of you it is a chefs suprise al in all a very welcoming establishment

Disappointing

The hotel does not have a lift which was not stated on the details of the hotel, this can be rather convenient if you have health problems and expecting a lift. The staff was not very friendly or helpful, the lady that helped us was rather abrupt. The infomation regarding breakfast was also misleading, it appeared as if breakfast was included in the price, turned out not to be the case apart from complimentary, which was disappointing. I don't think this hotel offers value for money at all, too expensive for what you get for your money.
