The Chicago Theatre was built in 1921 and was originally named the Balaban and Katz Chicago Theatre. This building has become the unofficial landmark for Chicago representing the rich arts and music culture Chicago is known for. In 1979 the building was added to the list of historic buildings, and later in 1983 was added as an official landmark for the City of Chicago.

We rented two apartments across the hall from one another, so that worked out very well. They were clean and well stocked. We did have an issue with one apartment not having the heat switched over from air, so it was quite cold, but the owner was responsive and this was fixed very quickly! The only major issue was no elevator. This is actually 4 flights of stairs, even though it's on level 3, because the ground floor does not count as a floor. We had heavy luggage and it was extremely hard to get up and down.

Great spot close to convention center!

We had a great experience with this stay, my ONLY 4 out of 5 stars was just the parking availability. I did know that it was not a reserve parking but I didn’t realize how much it would cost/how far it was to the lots as we were never able to snag street parking. That is truly the ONLY negative of this whole trip, location, apartments, people etc everything was great! Will stay again!

Nice Stay but Expected a Bit More

We had an enjoyable stay in this two unit apartment for Thanksgiving 2021. The communication with the renter was good and they responded quickly with any issues (we asked for another table for Thanksgiving and it arrived quickly). There was also a fairly good amount of kitchen essentials for making meals. It was very useful to have 2 separate apartment units on the same floor and the keyless access is a bonus The location was directly in Chinatown and there were plenty of restaurant options. Although there is no reserved parking spot, free parking could be found down the street nearby (although it could be difficult at times) The pics of the apartment are a good representation of the units. One complaint I have is there wasn’t sufficient ‘dining’ area in one apartment. And the other unit had a small area. It’s not sufficient to serve two units that can sleep 12+ people. Also, the area can get a bit seedy in the late evenings and the windows allowed a draft in the bedrooms. For the price we paid, I would have expected 4-star level accommodation but this was more 3-star
