Close to base was the best thing! The house was very clean but needed some maintenance and attention. There was a place above the kitchen window that looked like it had mold, a bundle of wire sticking out the wall by the entrance, the upstairs shower had black around the bottom of it and the shower head was a pain to figure out. The HVAC system needs some attention as three of the four bedrooms stayed cold even though we cranked the heat up. The furniture in the living room needs some updating.

I do not recommend this Air B&B to anyone. We went for my nephew’s graduation and rented this house four bedrooms two baths and no washer and dryer. So first night of taking a shower we notice that the towels were not fresh they smelled like they came from the store new and not wash. Another problem is that no washer and dryer! So I called the owner and told her about this and told me that she will let her cleaner to go back and bring us clean towels. Do I thought the problem was solve. We were out when she came and brought towels but when we came back I took a shower and noticed that my cleanser has been tampered. Somebody poured out all the cleanser and replaced it with water. I had to buy a new cleanser. This was terrible.

Necessary businesses and stores (grocery stores, pharmacies) were within 5 miles, however not many restaurants (mostly fast food). Property is about a mile from the Great Lakes Naval Recruit Training Command which is great if you are there for your child's graduation. The property itself was about 90% remodeled on the inside, but there are many small things that have not been finished. For example, there are closets without doors and doors without handles; there was a wire hanging out of the wall; bedrooms lacked bureaus or dressers or a tray/table for your suitcase so we were living out of our suitcase on the floor; the floors had indoor/outdoor mats that were curled up on the ends causing a tripping hazard. The owners were very nice and the house has potential, it just needs to be completed.

Perfect spot for family gathering to celebrate my son’s graduation for bootcamp. Close proximity to base, great restaurants, NEX, and easy grocery delivery from WalMart. Check-in was easy and host was very communicative.

Excellent communication and fast responses. Very good location and close distance to everything. Very close and easy access to navy graduation if your staying for that. Noisy neighbors across street but as long as the house windows are closed you cant hear them. Home is super cute and spacious. Will definitely be at the top of our list to return to when visiting our son while he is in school here.

Great potential

The home it’s self is obviously an older home that has been remodeled in North Chicago. There was plenty of space, a bit inconvenient that the second bathroom is on the ground floor while all of the bedrooms are upstairs. I would recommend updating check in info with accurate WiFi information and how to disarm the alarm. Bars in the closets to actually hang up clothing would be nice as there are no drawers to store clothing in the bedrooms. At the very least, some of this folding racks to sit your suitcase on. The kitchen had plenty of dishes but was pretty lacking for cookware, we went to Walmart and bought a few skillets and sauce pots as wee wanted to cook a family meal. There are two towels per bedroom but no washcloths. Just something to plan for if that’s your thing. Overall, the was great for our needs, but with some minor adjustments it could be exceptional. Definitely a great place for larger families coming in for boot camp graduation.

Overall it was ok. The wifi information was noy accurate so there wasnt wifi and there were mouse tracks on the stove. We saw a mouse run through the living room
