“Clean room, but it is an old building which inevitably presents a few challenges when being maintained. The staff we met were happy and extremely friendly, special mention to the waitress at breakfast who explained she had been there for 26 years, what a great sense of humour. The property is within half a mile of the main station, well situated, and just stone’s throw from the Minster. I would happily stay there again when I next visit York”

“Hotel bellino, ma non un 5 stelle... Il tappeto del bagno macchiato e il vetro della doccia nero nei bordi e, sempre in bagno, odore di umido.
Camera molto piccola ma arredata molto bene e letto comodo.

“Lovely apartment in a historic building, ideally located just outside the city centre, but within easy walking distance of all places of interest in York. Nice touch of leaving a bottle of bubbly in the fridge - a good sign that the hosts are attentive. The apartment itself is well furnished and equipped, and really does feel like a home from home. Overall, thoroughly recommended.”

The location is excellent, but the property itself did not meet basic FIRE safety standards. There were no working fire alarms in the entrance floor apartment – the units had been installed but had been ripped off, placed on the side and had no batteries. We immediately messaged the owner and Expedia to sort it, as this is a serious safety issue, and received no response AT ALL. We ended up having to go and buy a fire alarm ourselves just to feel safe enough to sleep.
