“Our trip to Taawaki and Clarkdale was excellent. Began with our greeting and the hospitality shown us when we arrived. The hotel lobby and the view from the back patio are exceptional. The room was very comfortable and we both slept well on the comfortable bed. Breakfast was also a treat with various pastries, an egg dish, coffee and juice and a Native American dish that was very good. Would definitely stay again.”

“We stopped at the office to check -in and were given the code to the door. The tiny house was clean and appeared new. The RV park was fairly quiet with most residents appearing to be long-term.. It had a nice sized outdoor area. I recommend this place as I would book again. I would recommend bringing cleaning supplies for longer stays as none were provided. "Suite monolocale 1 letto King al primo piano camera pulita e molto spaziosa con 2 terrazze una per lato, struttura bellissima bella locazione, ottimo punto di vista interno e a un passo da quello esterno, vicino al Mesa Airport dove si trova il Mesa Grill raggiungibile a piedi in 5 minuti ottimo per colazione, pranzo o cena o anche aperitivo. All'interno della struttura c'è un ristorantino situato all'interno di una roulotte Airstream servono colazione, pranzo e cena con un menù ristretto ma carino. Il centro di Sedona e vicino ma raggiungibile o in macchina o con il servizio di shuttle che la struttura offre, non a piedi troppo pericolo. C'è anche una piscina non molto grande ma giusta per rilassarsi nel pomeriggio dopo una giornata di hiking."

"Il luogo è veramente da incanto - ai piedi delle montagne. Ho dormito in una suite Junior, molto bella e ampia (ottima per famiglia di 4 persone)- pulizia molto discutibile: il pavimento era di moquette probabilmente mai lavata (camminando a piedi scalzi diventavano neri!)"

Directly outside the monument proper sits the uncovered remains of a pit dwelling originally constructed in 1850. The dwelling would have been covered inside an oblate oval "cocoon" of mud and clay supported by beams and poles situated in the holes you see here. It would have been a relatively comfortable dwelling in all seasons. With a single opening for a door, the coolness of the interior would have been maintained during the hot summer. In the winter, a fire pit directly under the only opening in the roof would have provided enough heat (with the door closed off by leather or cloth) to keep the inhabitants warm and dry.
