  • The House: Set on a 5-acre site in an area of outstanding scenic beauty, this 4 star holiday home is located 12km from Louisburgh in County Mayo. Overlooking one of Europe’s finest beaches, with views of Connemara and the islands, with Mweelrea Mountain in the background, Silver Strand House is ideal for people who prefer a more individual and independent lifestyle.
    This unique holiday home features eight bedrooms, seven showers, a sauna, two bathrooms, three televisions, two videos, a dvd player, complimentary broadband internet access, and even bathrobes and hairdryers.
    This holiday home has no equal in the west of Ireland. Ideal for a break with friends or a family reunion, it offers spectacular views and a unique location close to miles of deserted beaches and then you can unwind in the Sauna !

    Inside: The kitchen and Utility area is well equipped with everything that you’ll need . There is a spacious dining room with seating area , Sky TV, DVD Player. There is a cosy living room with open fire, Sky TV, DVD Player.

    Upstairs there are 5 bedrooms. Family suite, main double bedroom also has single bed with en suite facilities and TV, Adjoining room with 3 single beds. One Twin bedroom en suite. One double bedroom ensuite. Another double bedroom ensuite also has single bed.

    Downstairs there are 3 bedrooms. 1 Twin bedroom en suite. 1 Double bedroom ensuite and 1 Double bedroom ( standard) bathroom in hallway. Also downstairs there is a Sauna with ensuite facilities and another shower toilet and wash hand basin off the utility area.
    There is a Large Garage for storing Surfboards, Bicycles, Golf clubs, Fishing Rods etc.

a home from home

Silver Strand House is a great house for big group , or families to stay in Mayo. The view looking over the bay and out at the island off the Mayo coast is beautiful. The house has plenty of cooking equipment, delph etc to cater for large numbers, with space outside for children to play, and storage for bikes etc in the garage. The owner, Catherine is friendly, welcoming and helpful.

A beautiful setting although the weather is inevitably variable but didn’t stop us getting to the beach each day for digging and some swimming. The bedrooms work well for families with children and some for adult couples. The kitchen is small but well equipped with 2 dishwashers and the utility has washing machine and tumbler dryer - vital. The owner is very welcoming and friendly. Very relaxed

Great stay

We are 3 families (6 adults and 10 kids) who holidayed for one week in Silver Strand house this July. The house was perfect, accomodating us all. It is clean, spacious and comfortable with plenty of living space. The kids enjoyed the garden and we barbequed most nights enjoying the fabulous ocean views. The location suited us perfectly, we are an active bunch so spent lots of time on the adjacent silver strand beach, horse riding just 2 minutes up the road (highly recommend), fishing, climbing Croagh Patrick and doing the adventure centre at Delphi (25 min drive). All in all a great house and we had a lovely time staying there.

Perfect relaxing time spent in family. The house is well equipped. Gas barbecue. 8 fires in the kitchen and the sauna work very well. It is located in a beautiful landscape that we loved during our journey.
