Victorian home brought back to life on the Shawnee Hills wine trail.

Here, adventure waits just beyond the porch—hiking and biking trails weave through the trees, quiet lakes shimmer for kayaking and fishing, and a dozen delightful wineries sit within a short, scenic drive. There’s always a new surprise just around the bend.

This five-bedroom Victorian beauty, born in 1887, has been lovingly restored so it feels a bit like stepping back in time—only with all the modern comforts you could hope for. Sip your morning coffee on the screened-in porch as the garden wakes up, or slip into the hot tub, set anywhere between a refreshing 80° to a steamy 104°, perfect for both sun-drenched afternoons and starlit evenings.

Inside, the cheerful breakfast nook invites you to gather, dream, and map out the day’s whims.

If you wander into town, you’ll find Cobden’s charming antique shop, a cozy history museum, and the locally adored Iron Whisk serving breakfast and lunch from Thursday to Sunday. Venture a few miles farther and you’ll reach Owl Creek, one of our favorite spots for delicious meals, fabulous wines and wine ciders, and often live music dancing through the air on weekends.

Prefer to stay in? Our well-stocked kitchen has everything you need for a homemade feast (though we should note—no traditional oven; a large toaster oven, crock pot, 2 electric burners, griddle, rice maker, and grill is usually all it takes for a fantastic meal at home.

Great weekend stay!

Very impressed with this house. The owners have made this house so nice with a great amount of space for our group of 9 adults! There is a nice dining room for board game playing, a nice screened back porch, hot tub, and even a fire pit and chairs. It’s not easy to find a space like this with 5 bedrooms and the nice attention to detail that this house has. It was also very convenient to the winery trail and bourbon bar in the area. Thanks for making this a great weekend stay…I definitely recommend it!

Fantastic property, great location

My friend group and I love this property. We'll continue to stay at it each year as long as the host allows us to do so. The property has an incredible amount of character, easily holds our group of eight and is located in a great spot to reach any area of interest in the region from wineries to parks. I cannot say enough good things about this place. Give it a go, you won't be disappointed.

Perfect getaway

We came with our book club and it was the perfect spot! It gave amazing Victorian vibes. The best and softest towels and beds/bedding ever. We enjoyed the hot tub and local winery!

Perfect Spot to stay when visiting the Wine Trail.

This place was perfect for our group of 8! Great location for taking in the wine trail and Shawnee. The house has been updated with a definite attention to detail. We'd definitely stay here again and enjoyed the spaciousness of the house and all the amenities. One thing to note: There is not a traditional cooktop or oven. However, there is a grill, a countertop griddle, and a two-burner electric hot plate, which was plenty for us to prepare meals when we stayed in. We were really impressed with how nice the house was and the proximity to so many activities! Definitely recommend this place to any group heading to the wine trail.

More Than We Could Ask For

We were lucky enough to be able to book this beautiful restored home on the weekend of the eclipse. It's spacious—each of us had our own room—and quaint. Everywhere you turned, the details take you back to the turn of last century. We might have liked to have a stove, but the microwave and hot plate are sufficient. Plus there's an outdoor grill (Warning: we set off the fire alarm while grilling; be sure the house is closed up if you BBQ!). Plenty of small wineries and hiking in the region, and a hot tub to relax after a long day exploring. Recommend.

This property is incredible

This place exceeded our expectations. It had more than enough room for our group of 8 to sleep comfortably. The location was fantastic for our purposes. The home itself is exceptionally well maintained and has so much character. We were not able to take full advantage of the outdoor spaces, but expect to do so in the future. It's worth noting the lack of a traditional stove/oven, but we did not find it limiting for our needs. We'll be staying here again. If you visit, be sure to visit the Iron Whisk...

We all absolutely loved this VRBO Property. The decor was amazing. The only oops on my part was that I did not realize there would not be an oven with stove top. The listing said "Oven", that meant a countertop Air Fryer/Oven. We were creative and was able to fix one dinner and one breakfast. The only other comment I have is two of the bedrooms really could use new mattresses. Thanks, Laura, for all your assistance in making this an unforgettable friends trip.

Adorable house

This house was everything we needed for a weekend get away! Only thing I would maybe change is the fact the listing didn’t say anything about there not being a traditional oven/stove. There is a countertop ninja toaster oven/air fryer and some other counter top kitchen tools. It was not a major inconvenience for us. We loved the screened in porch area. The weather didn’t cooperate for a fire pit but the yard was lovely. Overall, we had a very pleasant stay. Be sure to hit up the iron whisk for breakfast/brunch.

House was awesome

The house has cute themed rooms, a hot tub and a beautiful butterfly garden, the winner for us though was the screened in porch! Overall it was a good experience for a bachelorette party weekend!
