Perfect for family getaway!!!!!!
What a special getaway for our family (me, my wife, 8-year-old and 4-year-old). The property is truly a gem tucked away at the end of a short road. The house is plenty big for more than 4 people but also has a nice cozy feel to it. We hardly even used the lower finished basement level and the side living room because the screened porch, kitchen, and yard were all we needed. The screened porch was heaven with cool breezes off the water, a gorgeous view, and space for all. The yard had space for the kids to play ball and access to our own dock was such a treat. We took out the owner's kayak for rides around the bay and we caught fish right off the dock (my son's first ever!). AND the water was so clear you could see the fish you were trying to catch through the water. We also swam off the dock almost every day as well.
Being July 4th week we had quite a show of fireworks from the town and neighbors.
The house was prepped and ready for us across the board and Barbara was very accessible by email and text as needed as questions arose.
The location was perfect, ten minutes into Burlington but felt miles away in a small quaint town with access to the grocery store and other necessities. We explored the bike causeway, went swimming at the beach down the road, and even went to Canada "for ice cream" on a whim per my son's request.
Barbara's house is a no-brainer if you are looking for a retreat that gives you the option to not move a finger for a week or desire a fantastic access point for all the area offers. Don't hesitate!
