Resort a Colchester

“This is a lovely little pub the grounds are well kept but unfortunately our bathroom was extremely damp and the smell was unbearable, we called reception and they came and sprayed in there but there was definitely an underlying issue going on as there was a big damp patch on the ceiling, there was also lots of cobwebs in the bedroom, the shower had very little power, the good points are the carpet was lovely and soft, the tv had a good signal, there was a mini fridge and tea & coffee making...

“Being from the hospitality industry, I am not easily wowed but I have to say, the staff and service was wonderful, genuine and warm. Clean rooms, comfy beds, all expected amenities working and I enjoyed a delicious dinner in the restaurant. I stay here whenever I'm in the area as there's always a warm welcome.”

“A very cute place to stay in a lovely market town. Parking nearby (free on Sundays and overnight). Access to the rooms, due to the nature of the historic building, is not the easiest (uneven floors, narrow corridors and stairs). The room was absolutely lovely though; the bed was comfortable with quality bedlinen and pillows. The breakfast buffet was welcome - a small table and chair would have been welcome. A bedside light would have been welcome too. With it being such an old building,...

“The property requires updating and is disorganised. The quality of breakfast was poor although there was plenty of choice. A number of staff were helpful Ebonie in the restaurant and a gentleman in reception.”

“L'hotel è nella media di quelli delle piccole cittadine inglesi. Struttura un po' datata, ma complessivamente accettabile. Il personale alla reception desk era simpatico e il checkin è stato veloce e tranquillo”

“After booking online i rang to request a cot & sofa bed to be made up. After 20minutes the man found my booking. He kept asking during this time for me to become a member which i declined as I didn't feel this was a good start that he couldn't find my booking of 2 rooms. Once he had i asked for a baby cot to be in one of the rooms he replied with if one is available! Surely a hotel should have enough cots for the amount of rooms they have? I asked this man to put me through to the actual hotel...

“For the price very happy with the hotel. The room size was impressive. Only downside. Toilet had a drip.”
