This home can comfortably sleep 22 guests! There is not a better location in all of Columbus!! Extremely walkable to all Short North has to offer. Restaurants, bars, Breweries, Coffee.
Enjoy plenty of space with a total of 18 beds/ 3.5 baths
This is the perfect spot to come with a group or family to experience Columbus. Two separate, Safe one car garage parking. The home is located in Heart of the Short North, a few steps away from High st. Relax on the patio that overlooks the short north.

  • The second oldest building remaining on The Ohio State University campus, Orton Hall was opened in 1893. It is named after Dr Edward Orton, Sr. who served as Ohio State's first president, OSU Professor of Geology from 1873 to 1899, and Ohio's State Geologist from 1882 until his death in 1899. Orton Hall is built of 40 different Ohio building stones. In the outside walls, these stones are laid in stratigraphic order according to their relative positions in Ohio's bedrock. The only non-indigenous to Ohio stone used is Indiana Limestone to build the front steps. It was chosen because of its high concentration of embedded fossils. The bell tower was dedicated in 1915 and contains 25,000 pounds of bells that can be heard regularly tolling across campus. Encircling the top of the tower are 24 columns with gargoyle-like figures which are restorations of fossil animals.

Austin our host was amazing! There were a few things that could use some improvement, but overall we had a very good stay, Austin was very helpful and even purchased some additional items for the kitchen when we had asked about what was there and what we needed. This is a place where we would definitely stay again!

We enjoyed a great time in Columbus’ Short North area! This home is walkable to so many great restaurants, coffee shops, and boutiques. Another plus is that there is room on property to park three vehicles (two in garages, plus one surface spot). Even for more than three autos, the host will apply to the city for your street parking for a nominal cost, which is a huge plus in any city. The host communicated with us prior to arrival, on arrival, and throughout our stay as needed. The home was largely as advertised in photos and description, with bed linens and towels as expected. I would say the kitchen is not stocked for heavy cooking or serving a crowd, but it was fine for our group which only cooked a breakfast, then went out to enjoy the city for remaining meals. If you were expecting to cook a lot, then maybe a little tricky. A few things need attention, such as a non-operating ceiling fan in one bedroom, and the carpet could use a refresh. During hot months, the attic bunk room may be unusable as it was for us on a hot Sept weekend (room was over 80 degrees up there and no adjustable thermostat). Even with minor drawbacks, we had a great time and felt the rental met our needs which were mostly about location and enough beds for our extended family to come together from multiple states. Thank you, Austin, for your hospitality!

Unfortunately, our stay did not meet expectations. While the home has potential, we encountered several issues that detracted from the overall experience. The house was in noticeable disrepair—multiple light fixtures and switches didn’t work, curtains were broken or dangling, and several pieces of furniture (including bed frames) were damaged. There were also exposed wires and stereo/networking equipment left out in common areas, which felt unfinished.Cleanliness was also a concern. There were visible stains on carpets, trash left near the entrance, and the general condition of the home suggested a lack of deep cleaning between guests. The home was also understocked: basic kitchen items like a toaster and Tupperware were missing, and there were not enough trash cans, paper towels, or blankets/towels for our group.A final note for future guests: the house is in a very active, noisy area. On both nights of our stay, we were woken around 2am by loud bar crowds, car alarms, and street noise. This might not bother everyone, but it’s worth noting if you’re hoping for a quiet night’s sleep.We’ve stayed at many VRBOs, and I’m sharing this feedback in hopes that the host addresses these issues for future guests. The location may work well for some, but we wouldn’t choose this property again unless significant improvements were made.
