“Purtroppo siamo arrivati e purtroppo è stata persa la prenotazione. Siamo una famiglia di 2 adulti e 2 bambini piccoli. Siamo stati divisi in 2 camere doppie piccolissime dove ho avuto difficoltà ad aprire la valigia grande. Prive di frigo e phon! Peccato perché la struttura esternamente è anche bella, con un bel ristorante e piscina. Collocata in uno dei posti a mio parere più belli del Portogallo ”

“There is a very unpleasant smell in the apartment- that made us limit out time in the apartment and it was quite unpleasant - except to sleep. It was making me feel a bit sick to my stomach- maybe sewer? Also- the heat in one bedroom was not working so it was quite cold in the main part of the apartment because we had to wheel the portable heater into that room to stay warm. Kitchen was limited on what was available- but we ended up eating out, anyway. Not the best stay.”

Comporta is a village on the Tróia peninsula, a 13-mile long sandy spit in the north of Portugal's Alentejo region. It sits at the heel of the peninsula, at the southern end of the wide Sado estuary, sandwiched between dense forest and the Atlantic. The village is lovely and has affordable places to stay. You can get in that place by ferry from Setúbal to Tróia.
