Grand Victorian - Easy GAP Access, shops, and restaurants

Relax after a long day of outdoor play in this gorgeous, historical home in the heart of Confluence-the perfect town with easy walks to restaurants, groceries, and bicycle shop.Backward Helmet House provides access to many outdoor activities including the scenic Hall of Fame GAP bike trail, whitewater rafting, boating on the Yough, and numerous hiking trails.This 120 year old home has been updated while retaining many original features - including a dining room that was the town doctor's office.

Throughout the year there is Trailhead Brewery, The Shine Shack, Pamela's Pints and Provisions, Mitch's Fuel and Food, Riverside Pizza, banks, post office, and a Dollar General Market. In high season there is also River's Edge Cafe, and the Outflow (ice cream and sandwiches).

Confluence previously had a commuter train station, and now has cargo trains running the tracks multiple times a day. The tracks are far enough away to not bother most guests. However, if you are a light sleeper, you may want to use the provided ear plugs.

We also have a volunteer fire department supporting all types of emergencies including water rescue. Don't be alarmed if you hear the whistle blow, as it is meant to alert citizens and the volunteers to support any emergency.

- You will have access to the entire house except for the basement and 3rd floor.
- The "office" side of the garage is available for locked, indoor bike storage. The main garage bay is not open to guests.
- Please do not park in the driveway - there is a parking pad behind the house.


Entering through the back screen porch, you arrive in the renovated kitchen and breakfast area. The kitchen is set up for you cook a leisurely dinner or grab coffee on your way out the door. From the kitchen, step back in time as you enter the spacious dining room. Once the Doctor's office, you'll appreciate enjoying your meals in this setting. After your meal, relax in the living room and enjoying the fireplace (now gas) and thoughts of 100 years ago, or switch on the frame TV and use the high speed internet to stream movies in modern style. When it's time to call it a night, admire the grand foyer and staircase on your way up to the four second floor bedrooms - all equipped with new ductless AC units (minisplits) and ceiling fans. There is also an outdoor gathering area with new tables and a grill. Locked bike storage is available inside the garage.

Confluence doesn't presently have any public transportation options. Some folks opt for an Uber in and out, which is completely doable, but not advised.
