“We had a really disappointing experience with Powhatan Motel. After driving 16 hours on a long road trip, we arrived around 3am expecting to check in, since the motel clearly advertises a 24-hour front desk and check-in availability after 4pm. “The woman who checked us in is such a hard worker. The next morning she was running the desk and helping in the breakfast area as it was extremely busy. However…our room had just been cleaned and it had a weird smell. I always check for bedbugs at any place we stay. Bed sheets looked clean and fresh until I lifted the fitted sheet to find another mattress sheet cover and saw an area of brown something. I did take a photo. “This place was just OK seemed to have gotten better reviews, which is why we picked it. The rooms were just fine but a little dirty. The shower was wonderful. The breakfast was nothing but I really dislike drinking coffee out of Styrofoam cups. It was dog friendly but when I took my dog outside, I’ve never seen so much trash surrounding a building and I didn’t wanna walk my dog in all the trash. The price was good for what we got.”
