The endless summer
The house was called Nu-Joy-Sea when I rented it. The description and picture on VRBO was very different than the one above, which gives a more accurate picture of the location of the house. In my search on VRBO I specified ocean front. This house was advertised as ocean side, which I took to mean beside the ocean! Instead, ocean side means on the ocean side of highway 12. It is 4 to 5 rows back from the ocean and a five minute walk to the beach access point. Moreover, a picture of the beach access point conveys the impression that it is right outside the front door of the house, rather than some distance away. The beach access itself is very steep and a challenge for anyone with hip or knee issues. One member of our group could not negotiate it. The house is also not friendly for those with physical handicaps. The main living area is up two flights of stairs, some of which did not have a railing. The shower in the master bath also had no bars to hold onto. Otherwise the house is in pretty good shape. We were grateful for the air-conditioning in 90 degree weather. The management company, Shoreline OBX did an excellent job, but they had nothing to do with what I think was a misleading description of the house. This was the work of VRBO. I won't be taken in again.
