Just walking up to the hotel, we were impressed with the attention to landscaping, and the darling covered porch. The manager of the place was knowledgeable about the history of the building and could give interesting details about the home. It is just a block from the historic downtown area, that has local bead, art, gift, home, and coffee shops. Once we parked our car to register, we never started it again til we left. Everything is close enough to walk and even better if you bicycle. If you can't bring your own, they have rentals at the hotel. Our room and bathroom were clean and well-appointed. The only reason I could not give it a 5 for comfort was due to the bed itself. It was just not as comfortable and the bed was pretty squeaky. The proprietor made a delicious fruit salad, bacon, and blueberry waffles for breakfast. I have been to other bed and breakfasts that gave more variety each day and a bigger breakfast. My husband was not a fan of the waffles, but both of us loved the fruit salad. The other guests mentioned that he had made marvelous Eggs Benedict the previous day. Overall, we were happy with our stay and will enjoy a return stay.
