It is known for the blue washed walls and doorways in the old city. Narrow alleys, cobbled walkways, stairs up and down, leading in all directions.

Chefchaouen's powder blue buildings mirror the cloudless Moroccan sky - but religious rather than stylistic reasons are behind the design choice. Jewish teachings suggest that by dyeing thread with tekhelel (an ancient natural dye) and weaving it into prayer shawls, people would be reminded of God's power. The tradition lives on in the regularly repainted blue buildings.

The walls are adorned with carpets, purses, blankets, paintings and much more. It was quite an adventure to get lost in the tiny lanes and alleys and discover the many berber shops and products.

“The Guest House was fantastic. The road leading up to the guest house left you doubting how the guest house would be. However, the guest house itself along with the staff and the facilities are exceptional. "Excellent hotel with historical charme "

"Bellissimo Ryad proprio nella piazzetta del petit socco facile da raggiungere personale gentilissimo in tutto anche nella organizzazione trasferimenti e tour. Camere belle spaziose, letto comodo bagno con sanitari moderni ed anche bidet. Colazione a buffet ma su richiesta preparano anche omelette e uova in tegamino. Il ristorante non lo abbiamo provato per assoluta mancanza di bevande alcoliche (come in quasi tutta Tangeri) ma è bello e con un buon menù. Molto bella la terrazza vista mare. Da ritornarci!"

"Posizione del hotel Comoda a pochi passi a gare di tangeri ville e anche a centro (commerciale tangeri mall) ma se volete magari andare a (medina kadima )d tangeri e lontana tipo 20 minuti con la macchina è troppo difficile che trovate taxi e se caso mai lo trovate vi chiederà il triplo del prezzo come ha fatto con noi sia per l’andata che per ritorno che sinceramente non li vale la pena per il resto hotel e carino letti comodi gli camere sono leggermente un po’ piccolini."
