“The location was perfect, right on the beach. The property was quite dated, in various states of disrepair. Our air conditioning was not functional, which was a problem given allergies of several in my party. The front desk was staffed by teenagers who didn’t seem to know how to handle requests.
Having said all that, the location was lovely and the restaurant on site had wonderful food and attentive staff.”

“Wonderful host who was very welcoming and tried to make sure we knew how to get around (visiting the Redwoods!) Very close to Jeremiah Smith Redwoods...
Fresh eggs in the fridge straight from the flock downstairs! The Hideaway is a great, secure basecamp for spending a couple of days in the redwoods.”

“0/10 – Worst hotel experience I’ve ever had.
This property was nothing like what we expected. The room was dirty, the TV didn’t work, and there was no staff on-site to help with any of the issues.
The biggest problem was the lack of safety. The parking lot had transients coming and going throughout the night. We observed what appeared to be drug activity, and people were walking around our vehicles repeatedly while our children were outside with us. Throughout the night there was constant...

“Nice basic motel. I wish I paid more for an ocean view as maybe the road noise wouldn’t have been so bad. They gave ear plugs. Room was basic-clean,towels, toiletries, hairdryer, small refrigerator, coffee maker and fan.
But it was cold in the room as the fan was only air. No heat.
The front desk had a nice place to make hot drinks, get cold ones and snacks complimentary.
Very dog friendly all around. Other visitors welcomed us.”
