Very Comfy Home

We enjoyed our stay. Comfortable clean rooms and everything we need in the kitchen . Great location to access all the parks. Beautiful view of the Smith River.

Great place

The place was beautiful, location wasn’t too far from nearby crescent city and the redwoods. Only complaint was the beds weren’t as comfortable as I’d hoped.

Sulfur smell and stove not working

The water coming out of the tap smelled so strongly of sulfur that even just running the water would make the entire house stink. Property manager told us that it wasn’t safe to drink the water, but this was only after I reached out to ask. The stove is not working. I read a review from 2022. That said it wasn’t working then.. Seems like the stove doesn’t work on a regular basis because there is a plug-in stove readily available. The hot tub was caked with a disgusting yellow grime that I suppose comes from the sulfur in the water, but rendered it useless to us. Otherwise, otherwise, clean as advertised.

Potential

Perfect location, layout of the house and view from the huge deck! However, many updates/fixes need to be made. During our stay we dealt with no stovetop (was brought a hot plate), hot tub jets didn’t work proper due to FLO error, toilet leak, shower door doesn’t close and an overall musty smell by one of the bathrooms. Overall, a decent place, but more issues than I want to deal with on vacation. Was promised monetary discount for our trouble, unfortunately no follow up yet.

Nice, Quiet Home

Plenty of room, kitchen well stocked, comfortable beds. Down a quiet street with no noise from neighbors or the road. This was a good rental. Recommended!

Not as expected

We booked this stay because of the images of the view of the river from the deck and access to a hot tub. To our disappointment, there was no view of the river from the deck as the shore line was overgrown with foliage/brush over 6ft high from the deck level. This is in contradiction to the images posted on VRBO. I am not sure when the images of the river view were originally taken but the overgrowth has to be at least 3 years old. The hot tub needed cleaning and servicing as the filter did not appear to be replaced or spray cleaned for quite some time. There some items in the house that should be tended to as well: worn out electrical outlets, plumbing fixtures(in both showers), front screen door, unstable toilet in master bath, master shower door and an outlet box to be secured from pulling out from the wall in the bedroom #2.

Redwood Wedding

We chose this place for our stay because we needed plenty of room to get ready for our wedding. The pictures don’t do the property justice. It was truly a wonderful place to stay. We will most definitely be coming back if we are in the area! Thank you!!!!

Pleasant home by the water -quiet with lots of birds

We got there late one evening. The home is open along the river. Quiet and relaxing. Fire pit and rear porch are great - we enjoyed them. Great starting point for the ocean and redwoods. Seafood in town is 20 min away. River is nice although the shrubbery has grown up since the online photo. Northern lights came on - fantastic! This is an older home - needs a few minor improvements but the management company was very responsive to a couple issues we found.

Really disappointed

There were so many things that weren’t working that worked in the prior year. We had a great time last year but it wasn’t the same experience this go round. We cooked in the dark had issues with the bbq . Door to bathroom not locking. Had my disabled dad in the master who couldn’t shut the shower door something was wrong there. The electrical outlet in guest bedroom was hanging out of the wall. When we were hot we went to look for the fan that was in the closet last trip. It too was missing. We were really looking forward to using the spa and after paying a $LARGE cleaning fee we found a bandage in it. The jets weren’t strong at all. The old spa was awesome I wish it wasn’t replaced. I felt like we wasted money and were depressed about everything the whole time. Not happy to spend almost 3 times our mortgage for 8 days and only have the river to enjoy.

A beautiful property!

The home has all you need in kitchen & bedding. Hot tub was great neighbors were great we had NO problems!!😊 I love it when something advertised as it really is!! Actually it was way better than I expected!😊

Beautiful cute cozy place

It was a beautiful clean cozy home only bummer was that the hot tub wouldn't heat up so we couldn't use it which is why we rented the place, however, we were credited for that which I really appreciate. Absolutely peaceful and beautiful and we definitely will be back.

Wanted a jacuzzi for Christmas for my family and it was broke never got to use it

Booked this beautiful view with a jacuzzi a month before. Arrived and was excited to get in a hot jacuzzi. The jacuzzi was ice cold. Immediately called the host and they said sorry for any inconvenience but we won’t be able to send anyone out until the morning. I booked this place for the jacuzzi and the view for 2 days. So why isn’t it hot when I arrive? So morning comes and no one has reached out to me. 11am rolls around so I call Vacasa. They said they are working on it. Meanwhile I keep checking the jacuzzi and it’s still ice cold. I live on the river but I just don’t have a jacuzzi. So time is wasting and I only get to see my sister 2 times a year. So more time goes by and my sister said she seen a man with a beard walk up and lift the jacuzzi lid and then shut it and we thought he would come to the door and say he fixed it. She looked outside for his car and no car. So the owner of this property must live next door. So you couldn’t take care of the problem. Then I call back Vacasa and they said that they had sent the housekeeper over and she said no one was home and she left a flyer. Lies! We had been there since we checked in the night before. Someone is being shady. I just wanted to soak with my family and look at the beautiful view. So more time goes by and I feel like I have been on the phone my whole vacation. So I keep checking and I feel like I’m in a nightmare and I’m going to wake up. What they ask for a night for a mobile home is to much. Nothing against mobile homes. So I go to call Vacasa back and the host won’t take my calls because every time I call it rings once and disconnects. So now I feel fully frustrated I rented this for only 2 nights and it’s the worst vacation ever! I have booked through VRBO so many times and absolutely loved every one! Not this time unfortunately! So I reached out to VRBO and they said they would get on it and gave me a case number. So I feel that if your going to post a picture of a Jacuzzi and that’s your first picture with a beautiful view it should be working right? Take it off your amenities if it doesn’t work! I feel fully unsatisfied. Vacasa said they would refund my first night and get the Jacuzzi working the next day. THAT DID NOT HAPPEN! I feel I should be refunded the whole amount for it being misleading and for all my troubles. I need a vacation after my vacation! Plus it was really dusty and the stove needed replaced. The whole place needs upgrades. Hot water ran out for bath too! Run!
