We rented what is described as a Cozy Cabin in a “Resort” on Lake Tansi. It was, in fact, what I would describe as a 1950’s Grade B family vacation “resort.” I’m sure that in by-gone days it was considered pretty nice but too many years, too much MILDEW and insufficient maintenance/renovation have taken their toll.We had to have the toilet reset the day we arrived because it leaked and wet the floor, the towels were insufficient and sleeping 6 people in this “cabin” was a big stretch. The cooking basics were not present (not even a cutting board or a decent knife). We coped with the mildew issue for the first few days by spraying alcohol on all the furnishings and surfaces to reduce the smell and kill the mildew; however, my husband suffers from asthma and my son is allergic to mildew. Both of them became sick within 36 hours and we finally had to move to a local hotel.Although I received prompt responses from Iryna, our problem was shifted to some corporate entity and they did not see fit to return the rent for the nights we had to move to a hotel.I don’t mind staying at less than perfect places but I do mind being misled and expected to stay in a medically unsafe place with no recourse other than to spare my fellow travelers the same experience by submitting this review.I don’t recommend the Hiawatha Resort.
