Gracious grande casa nella storica cittadina della Linguadoca

  • Nascosto in una piccola piazza a Cruzy (villaggio sorella di Quarante), la casa si trova a pochi minuti a piedi dai negozi del villaggio (fornaio, macellaio, fruttivendolo, bar-tabac, farmacia), parrucchiere e mercato bisettimanale.

    Questo 'maison de maître' ha conservato le sue caratteristiche ottocentesche (piastrelle eleganti, camere ampie, soffitti alti e caminetti in marmo), ed è piacevolmente fresco d'estate e ben riscaldato in inverno. E 'arredate in modo confortevole per qualsiasi cosa da due a sette persone, con un sacco di spazio per rilassarsi. Ci sono tre sale di ricevimento e quattro / cinque camere da letto, due bagni privati, un bagno principale, un terzo bagno con doccia e due ulteriori WC separati e una cucina completamente attrezzata. Nella parte anteriore c'è un ampio cortile soleggiato per mangiare, o sorseggiare un drink e guardare il cambiamento cielo della sera sulla torre 'chiesa-fortezza'.
    Tutte le età rimangono comodamente a casa, ma vi prego di notare che ci sono pochi passi fino alla porta d'ingresso, e una grande scala che dal piano terra al primo piano.


    Una vacanza in questa struttura si rivolge a una famiglia o un gruppo di amici che godono soggiornano in una proprietà e come essere in una vera e propria atmosfera del sud della Francia. I pasti in ristoranti locali, invitanti prodotti da preparare, vino Saint Chinian alla spina al vino locale cooperativa, altri vini tra cui moscato non lontano, feste locali (feste di paese, Feria de Béziers, musica nelle chiese, ecc), pigre passeggiate in il paese, ciclo cavallo lungo il Canal du Midi, e occupato (in estate) spiagge sono solo alcune delle cose da fare. Ma si rivolge anche a coloro che amano visite, per la ricchezza dei monumenti storici e culturali di tutto. L'estate è generalmente caldo e soleggiato, ma la casa è abbastanza freddo; il 'arriere-saison' porta spesso autunni incantevoli, e in inverno potrebbe essere necessario il riscaldamento centrale, ma hanno giornate di sole al di fuori.

Relaxing Cruzy house

We had a lovely week in this quirky village house. Very roomy bedrooms most with their own ensuite. Property kept quite cool as the walls are so thick and there are shutters on all the windows. Gorgeous area to explore with some fantastic restaurants. Incredibly friendly village with a great bakery. Loved our holiday here. Thank you Carol for letting us enjoy your very grand property.

Stijlvol groot huis met ruim aantal slaapkamers

Het huis was vanwege covid al een tijdje niet bewoond waardoor het minder schoon (stoffig) was. Maar dat is in deze situatie wel logisch. Verder is het huis compleet en hebben een aantal slaapkamers een ensuite. We hebben met ons gezin een prima verblijf gehad. De afstand tot het strand en Beziers is 30 minuten. Verder heeft het dorp de basis voorzieningen (bakker slager buurtsuper en tabac/kroegje). Als je op zoek bent naar een huis met voldoende binnenruimte dan raden wij deze woning aan.

So gut erholt wie schon lange nicht mehr

Kaum hatten wir das Haus betreten, schon nahm es uns mit seinem Charme seiner wunderbaren Atmospähre ein. Die großzügigen Schlafräume mit den hohen Decken und der Erinnerung an vergangene Zeiten. Morgens auf der Terrasse vor dem Haus im Sonnenschein frühstücken mit frischen Baguette und köstlichen Croissants der Bäckerei ums Eck. Was für ein Genuß! Des nachts auf sehr guten Betten in der absoluten Stille des kleinen Ortes tief und erholsam schlafen. Tagsüber in kurzer Entfernung alles was das Herz wünscht: Meer und Strand und Baden. Fluß und Kajakfahren und Baden. Zahlreiche wunderschöne Wanderwege und viele Sehenswürdigkeiten. Wir haben uns mit zeitweise 6 Personen äußerst wohl gefühlt und sind rundum zufrieden. Dazu beigetragen hat auch die unkomplizierte Kommunikation mit der Vermieterin und die reibungslose Abwicklung. Wir verstehen, warum alle Gäste so begeisterte Beurteilungen abgeben. Gerne kommen wir wieder.

Charming french village property

We loved this old Maison de Maitre right in the middle of the village next to the church and village square. Thank you to the owner Carol for all the information and ideas for great days out. We enjoyed days out visiting the amazing village of Minerve, walks through the Gorges and great meals out along the Canal du Midi. Close enough to the coast for beach days and for visiting the 9 locks and Beziers. The old book shop at Le Somail is a must for book lovers and a great ice cream parlour nearby.

Maison de maître confortable

Maison agréable et spacieuse avec un petit jardin devant, idéal pour les repas à l'ombre de l'acacia. Bien situé au centre du village dans une rue calme, à deux pas de la jolie église romane. Chaque chambre possède ses sanitaires, ce qui est très pratique pour 2 familles. Grande cuisine. une sensation d'espace avec une belle hauteur sous plafond. L'édifice est resté dans son époque, beaux pavements belles tapisseries et fenêtres anciennes à crémone. Un moment très agréable.

Not far from Downton Abbey

Our family stayed in Cruzy for one week and let me just say: It was a week of pleasure and indulgence. The majestic house is situated in the middle of the village, in very short distance to the local bakery, butcher, post office and church. After arriving, we explored the house, feeling like a character from Downton Abbey who has just bought a new estate. With its high walls and doors, tasteful furniture and general spaciousness (3 bathrooms, 5 toilets!), the house makes you feel truly royal. Our usual day: In the morning, we went down to the lovely terrace for breakfast, enjoying the fantastic Pain Au Chocolat and Croissants from the bakery. After that, we visited several villages and attractions, including Roquebrun, the Gorges d'Heric and the Canal Du Midi. In the afternoon, we went swimming, which is possible in several lovely rivers 15 minutes away. We finished our day with lunch, tasting all kinds of local specialities and finally spent some time on the terrace before falling into our soft beds in the cosy bedrooms. Dear Carol, thank you for sharing your wonderful house and preparing everything in the best way possible. We absolutely loved our stay and enjoyed every single minute!

Fantastic Holiday in Cruzy.

We absolutely loved staying in this house in Cruzy. This was one of our family's favourites during our recent European holiday. This house certainly has it's quirks being as old as it is but really, this added to its charm. We felt that it was a bit like staying in a house that a french Jane Austen type novel would be set in. We could have quite happily stayed a lot longer. Cruzy gave us all a taste of real village life in the South of France. We quickly got used to the early morning 'alarm' bells at 7am from the local church. We initially thought that when the owners had stated that you will not miss anything that happens in the village because the loud speakers let you know, we thought that this was a euphamisim for the church bells, but no....there really is a loud speaker announcement when anything happens eg, market, fish van arrives etc. This is a rural, quiet village and within easy travelling distance to the coast and many attractions. We enjoyed the local Fossil Museum, the access to the Canal Du Midi at many locations, Minerve (big hit with our family) and the surrounding countryside and towns in general. There are plenty of good wine tasting opportunites as well. We stayed out of the main tourist season and found plenty of things to keep us occupied, including lovely walks around the village of Cruzy itself and up into the surrounding vineyards. We bought bread and croissants daily at the local bakery and voted them as some of the best we have eaten on our trip around France. We also bought food and wine from the local grocery store and found the prices to be quite reasonable. The Supermarche is not far away either. The locals were friendly towards us. We enjoyed the markets that are held in many local villages, details in the house. We also found the best tasting apricots that we have ever had on sale at the roadside just north of the village. Cruzy will always be a family favourite. We fell in love with the area and it's way of life. If we lived closer, we could see us visiting every year. The house also has the biggest entry key we have ever seen! Our children were very impressed! This house has everything that you could need on your holiday, we found it to be very well equiped. Make the choice to stay here and you will not be disappointed, we felt that this was a real 'french' holiday experience.

Under the Languedoc Sun

Dear Carol: I was lucky enough to be invited to share my friends Jim and Simon's vacation and our week in your wonderful home was so much fun and we were very comfortable. Each day we ventured out to see a highlight following the Crusader's paths and down to Spain to the Dali Museum and to the beaches, perhaps we didn't see it all but we didn't miss much - and then I got a book about the Canal du Midi and was enthralled with the drama. The little French I know got me around and the last evening we dined at the restaurant you recommended and it was pleasant weather. We sat outside, relaxed and really enjoyed the menu presented to us. Otherwise, we cooked and truly enjoyed the delicious food we purchased in Cruzy and nearby villages. Your home was a paradise we rushed to it after our daily excursions; Jim always found the road home. So, thank you for sharing and we will tell our friends and perhaps one or two will follow suit. I wish you and your family well and know that you will be enjoying Cruzy soon. Always - Joan

Haus mit dem Flair einer vergangenen Zeit

Das kleine Dorf Cruzy liegt in einer hügeligen, wunderschönen Landschaft mit Weingütern und mittelalterlichen Orten unweit vom Canal du Midi, auf dessen Treidelpfaden man unter prachtvollen Platanen sehr gut wandern und Rad fahren kann. Die zahlreichen Sehenswürdigkeiten im Katharerland, die Städte am Mittelmeer und die dortigen Badestrände bieten sich als lohnende, abwechslungsreiche Ausflugsziele an. In Cruzy selbst kann man alles für den täglichen Bedarf bequem zu Fuß einkaufen. Supermärkte und nette Restaurants sind in der näheren Umgebung mit dem Auto rasch erreichbar. Das repräsentative alte Herrenhaus selbst steht auf einem kleinem Platz mitten im Dorf hinter der romanischen Kirche. Tagsüber fahren zwar einige wenige Autos vorbei, aber abends und nachts ist es so ruhig, dass man sogar Nachtigallen hören und angenehm auf der Terasse sitzen kann. In den zahlreichen, mit schönen alten Möbeln eingerichteten Wohn- und Schlafräumen des geschmackvoll renovierten Hauses ist immer noch die Großzügigkeit und das Flair einer vergangenen Epoche zu spüren, was dem Wohnen in diesem Haus einen ganz besonderen Reiz verleiht, zumal man auf zeitgemäßen Komfort nicht zu verzichten braucht. Die geräumige Küche ist bestens ausgestattet und praktisch eingerichtet, in den Betten schläft man sehr gut. Auch der Kontakt mit den Vermietern war äußerst zuvorkommend, liebenswürdig und prompt, die Wegbeschreibung zutreffend, die Schlüsselübergabe reibungslos und das Haus für seine Gäste gut vorbereitet. Wir haben die wunderbare Atmosphäre und die Weite dieses Hauses sehr genossen und hoffen, bald wieder darin zu wohnen zu können. Jedem, dem es gefällt, in einem Haus zu wohnen, dessen Alter wahrnehmbar ist und dessen Lage Anteil am Dorfleben gewährt, können wir dieses außergewöhnlich charmante Haus nur empfehlen.

An extraordinary house

This is a glorious house. It is full of grandeur and elegance. It has been beautifully renovated by the owners, in keeping with the period, and yet also maintains a comfortable and lived in charm. It has a great, functional kitchen, a plethora of places to eat, lovely big beds and good bathrooms. Cruzy, itself is a lovely little town, worth a browse in its own right. It also has enough amenities to keep you going before your big supermarket shop! It is well placed for the canal de midi and some wonderful places of interest, and, of course, the region's wine is fantastic!

Charming country stay

True French country experience. Although small, the town is welcoming having a feeling of stepping back a bit in time. The property is well maintained with a special character that uniquely fits the town itself. One must adapt to the requirements that a house of this age poses to its renovation. The layout may be somewhat quirky, but nothing is lacking. The town has all conveniences including bakery, butcher, and small grocery. A large supermarket is 15 minutes away. Even in February, we found much to see within an hour's drive of Cruzy. We never lacked for things to do. The owner is quite accomodating, and she was very prompt in her communication. We have stayed in several rentals throughout France, and not only would we recommend this property, we intend to return.
