Chalet a Dalbeattie

“Older property but well maintained.”

“We were married here 18 years ago… the place has not changed. It needs a lot of investment. The smell around the hotel was awful to the point we actually held our breath going into the foyer for the lift. It’s such a pity. The grounds are beautiful but it has not been maintained to a high standard. We truly we very disappointed and didn’t think it was worth the money. This is a 2* hotel at best. We had considered coming back for a family gathering in a couple of years to celebrate our 20th...

“Great location - approx. 50m from the railway station and 400m from Loreburn Hall, the venue for the gig we went to. Quality breakfast. Lovely B&B - our bedroom had a proper-sized TV, the central lounge was bright and tastefully furnished, the breakfast room had great bay windows and quality furniture. Doonhamer hospitality. Adequate on-site parking.”

“The period furnishings and decor in the lounges were very impressive. Some areas of the property are looking a little tired, but the Cally Palace have an abundance of excellent staff. They were all so friendly and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble for them - definitely 5* staff. We had a lovely large bedroom, with great views at the rear. We had four evening meals in the dining room which were really good and the Cullen skink was excellent. Cally Palace was a great base for our four day...

“Great stay. Derek and Rena were lovely hosts. Breakfast was great. Overall a very nice stay indeed.”

“The room was lovely but the sink in the en-suite was tiny & hard to get a wash or clean your teeth in without getting water everywhere. The front of the sink unit was already water damaged. The shower was good & easy to use. The lady who greeted us was very helpful & friendly especially as we forgot to take our key out with us & had to ask her to let us in to our room. Nothing seemed like too much trouble for her. There was a good choice for breakfast which was cooked to order”

“Unfortunately another disappointing night at the Inn. Went for a meal, again staffing issues with chefs resulting in quite a few things not being available. I thought there was a wedding function going on as every now and then loud music would blast through the restaurant area but it was just the music coming from the kitchen area as the doors swung open and closed. Sadly in need of a makeover.”

“Posto bellissimo. Ottimo in tutto. Unico difetto: la temperatura della camera era troppo alta”

“A great location with Lovely staff:)”
