Summary:
May Cottage is a delightful property in the picturesque village of Middleton One Row. Aptly named after the 'one row' of properties overlooking the village green and the bank of the River Tees, the cottage was built in the 19th century and stands out with the perfect combination of original period features and modern interior. Newly refurbished to a high standard, the cottage features three bedrooms, a living room, a kitchen and dining area, a family bathroom, a separate WC, and a private patio.

The Space:
Tucked away in the sought-after area of Middleton One Row, and just a short drive from historic Yarm, May Cottage is an ideal accommodation for family trips, getaways with friends, and business stays.

Upon entry, you will find the living room, kitchen and dining area, and a WC on the ground floor.

The first room on your right is a spacious living room with a window view of the front garden. Painted in light blue and fitted with two sofas and a large wall-mounted Smart TV, it's the perfect place for the group to relax.

The next room is the open-plan kitchen and dining area, fully equipped with a dining table and chairs, an oven and hob, microwave, toaster, kettle, and more. If you fancy eating out, there's a gastropub within walking distance of the house.

If you walk straight from the main entrance hallway, at the end of the hall, you will find a WC and the back door with access to the patio. The backyard is filled with greenery and features a seating area with bistro chairs and a table.

Heading to the upper floor, you will find all the bedrooms and the family bathroom.

The master bedroom boasts a king-size bed, a desk for work or vanity purposes and a beautiful view of the neighbourhood from the window.

The room next to it is a single bedroom, perfect for children or anyone who prefers to have a room to themselves. This room also offers a view of the street and the neighbourhood through the windows.

The third bedroom is also fitted with a king-size bed and a desk that can be utilised for studies, work, or vanity, with windows overlooking the backyard.

Lastly, the family bathroom is conveniently located on the same floor, featuring a bath with an overhead shower, a WC, and a wash basin.

Guest Access:
Guests have access to the full apartment. The keys to the property are accessed via a secure key safe and full details will be provided shortly before your arrival date.

There is no parking directly outside the house, however there are free parking spaces on the public road opposite the property, plus two private spaces to the rear of the property.

The property is located within a residential area and as such, this is not suitable for parties, events or celebrations and we have a strict policy against loud music or noise.

The Neighborhood:
Middleton One Row is a charming village situated in the borough of Darlington, County Durham, in the North East of England. Nestled along the south bank of the River Tees, this picturesque village is characterised by its linear layout, with a single row of houses overlooking the serene river landscape. The village is known for its historical significance and tranquil environment, offering a quintessentially English rural experience.

Middleton One Row is renowned for its scenic beauty and historical charm. The heart of the village features a mix of Georgian and Victorian architecture, with many buildings retaining their original character. The village green and riverside walks provide residents and visitors with peaceful spots to relax and enjoy nature.

Just a short distance to the southeast of Middleton One Row lies Middleton St George, a larger village that provides additional amenities and services with a range of shops and eateries.

To the north east, across the River Tees, is the vibrant market town of Yarm. Yarm is known for its bustling high street, which is lined with a variety of independent boutiques, restaurants, and cafes. The town’s Georgian architecture, along with its historical Yarm Viaduct, adds to its charm. Yarm is a popular destination for shopping and dining, offering a lively contrast to the quiet of Middleton One Row. Yarm High Street is a 12minute drive from May Cottage via Aislaby.

A short drive to the west brings you to Darlington, a larger town with a rich railway heritage. Darlington offers extensive shopping facilities, cultural attractions, and historical sites. Key landmarks include the Head of Steam - Darlington Railway Museum and the historic Darlington Covered Market. Darlington is a 17-minute drive from May Cottage.

South of Middleton One Row, Hurworth-on-Tees is a picturesque village known for its charming cottages and well-maintained gardens. The village boasts a number of historic buildings, including the 12th-century All Saints Church. Hurworth is also home to Rockliffe Hall, a luxury hotel and spa with a renowned golf course, offering a touch of elegance and leisure.

The surrounding landscape of Middleton One Row and its neighbouring towns is characterised by rolling hills, lush farmland, and the meandering River Tees. The area is ideal for outdoor enthusiasts, with numerous walking and cycling routes.

Getting Around:
Middleton One Row is accessible through a variety of transport routes, making it convenient for visitors traveling by road and rail.

The A67 is the primary road connecting Middleton One Row to nearby towns and villages. This road runs through the village and provides direct access to Darlington and Yarm.

Located a few miles north, the A66 is a major east-west route that connects the village to larger road networks, including the A1(M), facilitating travel to cities such as Newcastle, York, and beyond.

Dinsdale Railway Station is the closest railway station to Middleton One Row, located in the nearby village of Middleton St George. It offers regular services on the Tees Valley Line, providing connections to Darlington, Middlesbrough, and Saltburn-by-the-Sea.
