Unfortunately, this was a very upsetting stay and I would not recommend this property.It was clear during our stay that a rodent had been living in the house. There were signs of an ongoing issue, including food being gotten into and a mess left behind. This made the home feel extremely unsanitary and unsafe, and raised serious concerns about cleanliness and maintenance standards.One of the bedrooms was a converted garage with no proper airflow or ventilation. At night it became unbearably hot—essentially a hot box—and made sleeping extremely uncomfortable.In addition, the surrounding area felt sketchy and unsafe. To make matters worse, the entry code to the house was visibly posted on the wall, which raised major security concerns.What further added to our discomfort was that the host asked to enter the house with another guest while all of our belongings were still inside. This felt inappropriate and invasive, and contributed to an overall lack of privacy and safety during the stay.We requested a refund due to these issues, especially since we had to pay for relocating, which the host declined. Following this, the host alleged that we left a mess and damaged items in the home. These claims are completely untrue and appear to have been made in an attempt to avoid issuing a refund through VRBO.Overall, the combination of sanitation issues, poor living conditions, security concerns, and how the situation was handled made this an unacceptable experience.
