Our room was accessible without going into the pub, which was good. Nicely decorated and very clean. It would be ideal for a disabled person except for the bath with overhead shower. NO lid on the toilet seat !!

Enjoyable one night stay - would recommend. Just had to wait 10 minutes before being attended to upon arrival, but not really a problem. Nice stay

Excellent stay!
Stayed last night for my sons birthday following a trip to Alton Towers. They went above and beyond to make the stay pleasant for us and to accommodate our needs. Made a fuss of my son on his birthday which was so kind. Famoly room was quirky and comfortable, we all loved it! Gorgeous meal last night too. Highly recommend!

Great service and good, room not great.
Convenient location. Very friendly staff and good food. The family room wasn’t great. Single pane windows let in lots of road and customer noise as it faced the car park. Bed was okay, pillows pretty uncomfortable but biggest disappointment was the bathroom. In desperate need of a facelift.

Excellent family stay!
Lovely big family room with original features - the kids loved the original parts of the old stable still visible on the room! Very warm and toasty, but with in room thermostat. Speedy check in and we were even shown to the room so we could see how the keypad works for getting in after hours. Really friendly staff and very reasonably priced breakfast - only £2.50 for kids! Big car park and so quiet, we didn’t hear anything all night.

Booked twin bedded room and found it to be very large and actually partially meant to be accessible with emergency pull cords, toilet rails etc. However showering was in the bath and no grab rails for anyone needing accessible shower, and no option to wash using basin in bathroom as it was the size of one hand. The carpet was pale and showed up stains. Very odd room. Also another locked door around which daylight was visible that led somewhere. Therefore draughty. Hadn't realised the property was on a busy A road which the room faced and while not constant traffic it was noisy. As was nearby east midlands airport traffic. Might not bother someone used to traffic noise. Check-in by manager was friendly. Reported at checkout that there had been no hot water in the basin, no hand soap left in the hand soap dispenser and forgot to mention the dead lightbulb in the room so lighting was poor. Stayed at the Blue Jays Marston's the week before which was much better and prices similar.

Lovely location….. however
Lovely spot, rooms dated, paint pealing and mould in the bathroom(room5). Had dinner and the food was good however service was not great. Waitress brought bill and card machine up during dessert! Breakfast not great. Rooms very hot!

Good pub, great staff but room awful condition
The pub itself is fine and food what you would expect from Marston’s. Both men who served us in the evening and at breakfast went above and beyond especially with the children. However the family room had lots of issues with damp, mould and disrepair. I didn’t see the awful damp, peeling patch by the bed until the morning. The mould in the bathroom is an easy fix but the large area by the bed is a health and safety issue. The windows need a good clean, cobwebs inside and outside. Basically needs a full refurbishment.

Nice hotel with good food.
Nice room, decent size. Good food in the pub downstairs although service was a little slow. Great location next to the river.

Gorgeous hotel, slow service for evening meal.
The hotel is lovely in a gorgeous location. Our room was lovely, we were in room 2 which appeared to be converted stables with stalls still in place. Room was lovely and clean, bed comfortable too. The only downside was going for an evening meal in the pub. The service was so slow. I had to go looking for someone in the end to order puddings after waiting half hour from being given the menus. It was steak night and while mine was gorgeous, my partner's was very poor in comparison, as we had waited so long for it we didn't want to ask for a replacement. The puddings had to be chased up and the drinks we ordered with pudding never appeared so we cancelled them and asked for the bill, again we had to go looking for staff to do this.

Room 1
Room 1 has the wall paper coming off the wall in one corner and needs replastering. Bath is stained and shower screen seal needs replacement. Very clean and bed was very comfortable. All staff are very friendly and helpful. The only meal I had was Lukewarm when I received it. I didn’t complain, as I noticed the 3 front of house staff were rushed off their feet, so feel there should have been more front of house staff. Overall I was happy with my stay and have rebooked for next week, although I have found it quite expensive

The room we stopped in no.3 should be knocked down and started again it was terrible The ill fitting door opened directly onto the car park both wall lamps were broken and handing of the wall the table lamp was broken. The bed sheets didn’t cover the stained covered bed base. The TV was so small looked like it came from the 80s. This room couldn’t get much more basic or dated if it tryied

Pleasant and welcoming gentleman showed us to our room on arrival, room was terrible, bathroom old and tired full of mould and had not been cleaned properly. Room noisy as old windows. Food was nice but terrible attitude from the young man behind the bar, when he had paid our bill after meal we asked if we could add a drink to the bill to take back to the room, this was not a problem but when the barman was asked for the drink he just said no I am busy, the correct answer would of been yes, I will not be long I will just finish serving these people, totally unprofessional and terrible customer service. We would not stay there again.

Travelling business stay
Check-in closes at 21:30 so rushing to get there. Bar also closed at 21:30. A lot of dust behind the bed and windows thin and dated so noise from the road outside.

Very Disappointed 😞
This has to be one of the worst hotels i have ever stayed in and wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Firstly i found that the curtains were ripped, then I found that there were a lot of damage to the plaster and paintwork throughout the room. There was a number of stains on the sofa bed aswell as damp in the wall near the door. As i entered the bathroom i was left speechless as there was paint flaking off and the radiator was hanging off the wall. Anybody considering staying at The Crewe and Harpur, I seriously recommend you look elsewhere.
