Stayed here as it was near to a wedding I was attending and thought it was reasonably priced. I wish I’d have paid the extra and stayed elsewhere.
On arrival I noticed letters missing from their sign outside and thought this doesn’t bode well. Reception area was like something out of the shining. I asked was my room ready as I’d arrived an hour before check in and was told it was but to get in I’d need to pay a £10 fee. As the wedding started in an hour I paid the fee as I needed to get ready. I went to the room and noticed it was in poor condition, carpets and lamps were stained, kettle thick with limescale, foot prints on the walls.
I informed the receptionist who offered to change my room, the rooms she showed me were no better. So she said I could speak to the owner later that day. I finished getting ready and on my way out I was introduced to the owner, who informed me that as I’d been in the room and got changed in there it was used and he would not issue a refund so I could stay elsewhere, not even a partial one. This was all still before check in time and the cleaning staff were all on site should the room I’d got changed in need a clean… which it didn’t.
At this point the room had cost me £82, the Jury’s Inn was still bookable at £110.
So to all future travellers avoid unless you have no other option!
