“I booked this hotel for a 4 night stay for me and two work colleagues. Upon arrival on Sunday afternoon, 6th August 2023, the lady at reception said that she had no record whatsoever of our bookings and said that we couldn’t stay as the hotel was fully booked. When I showed her the paperwork from Hotels.com confirming the booking she was unmoved and refused to honour our booking. No apology although she did telephone a local guest house and they accommodated us for our 4 night stay.”

“Really enjoyed our stay here. It was such a characterful hotel and our room was gorgeous with beautiful views over the Chobe river from the balcony. The game drives and river cruise were really good and a reasonable price. I would say, the service was very up and down, sometimes outstanding, at other times quite cold and disorganised. The same is true of the game drives, one was incredible, the other was quite mediocre. Food too, sometimes was exceptional (like the BBQ at the poolside bar), at...

“I was in Gabs for a week for work, and I was pleasantly surprised by Avani. Room was comfortable and quiet, there were multiple restaurants and a coffee shop on site, and the gym was pretty big with multiple machines, treadmills, weights, etc. Pool looked nice but I didn’t have a chance to use it on this trip, though the seating around it was really nice for grabbing a bite to eat while finishing work. And the spa is amazing! Great massage there. I will be back!”
