“What a wonderful vacation! I stayed in early February 2026 on a mother-son getaway. We stayed in one of the spa suites and enjoyed the animals and the birds in the tree off our deck. I just can’t say enough great things about this place: the views (incredible sunsets), the food, Happy Hour cocktails, the pool, the friendly and attentive staff (shout out to Francisco, José, Roxy and Noelia). Be sure to rent a car and explore the area. And take advantage of the excursions that the hotel can book...

“This lovely hotel, in the tiny, unpretentious village of Drake Bay, was wonderful. I am an amateur wildlife photographer. The manager gave me Room 1, with an enormous window that looks out onto a guarumo tree. In this tree arrived, in turn, a toucan, a pair of aracaris, tanagers, tityrus, caracaras, golden-naped woodpeckers, multiple iguanas, hummingbirds - it was simply incredible. I took the best pictures I've ever taken. The pool and the bar are nice, and everyone is friendly. Just one...

“Five stars all the way. Villas Rio Mar has an amazing location — close to Dominical but outside the hustle, peaceful and relaxing. Just minutes from the beach, with a beautiful river nearby. The property is gorgeous, the pools are great, the rooms are beautiful, and everything was clean and well maintained. The restaurant was fantastic and the service was excellent. Incredible value — highly recommend.”

“Rancho Pacifico knocks it out of the park! Treehouse Tamandua was incredible, infinity pool overlooking the whale’s tail was simply beautiful and every meal was amazing. Great variety, great taste, and I’d even go so far as to say the presentation was borderline spectacular. But most importantly it was the staff that made our stay near perfect.
