“As it was my first trip to Tonga, I contacted the hotel in advance for the Airport Shuttle Service which was 100 TOP for a round trip. Despite the return trip being at 2am, the driver was punctual.The payment would be in cash and the host informed me that there was an ATM at the airport. The hotel was a little way out from the downtown, but on the first day, someone was driving back into town and kindly gave me a lift. “Nice resort, well run by the owners. It has comfortable rooms, private beach, a very useful pier for the trip boats and sea floor is rich of corals. Owners organised boat trips for us to visit nice places for snorkelling and diving. It was not the season for whales watching yet and there were not many tourists. We enjoyed kayaks made available by the resort together with fins and masks. Swimming pool and sunbeds were not available at the time.”
