You'll be in the heart of the Meuse department, allowing you to explore the surrounding area.
The Château de Thillombois is just a few minutes away, and Verdun, a city steeped in history, is about thirty kilometers away, as is Commercy, its castle and its famous Madeleine.
Reims, Metz, and Nancy are an hour's drive away.
Hikers will be delighted with this cottage, located at the start of the Gros Caillou du Vent des Forêts trail, a mecca for contemporary art in the department.
Wander through Saint Mihiel, the hometown of Ligier Richier, or the Renaissance district of Bar-le-Duc.
In the valley's villages, you can discover numerous works by the artist Donzelli. Anglers can choose to fish for gudgeon in the Meuse River, just a few steps away, in the nearby Canal de l'Est, or hunt for predatory fish or carp in Lake Madine, about fifteen minutes from the cottage.
Around Gros Caillou, there's something for everyone. History, art, sports, fishing, nature hiking, forests...
Cyclists are welcome and can lock their bikes overnight.
The MEUSE TGV train station is 20 minutes away, with a bus to Saint Mihiel from the station. Shuttle service is available under certain conditions. On the ground floor: a large, fully equipped kitchen opens onto a dining room that opens onto a magnificent wooden terrace overlooking the enclosed grounds and the village church. A lounge area with a smart TV, Amazon Prime access, and free Disney+.
A bathroom with a shower, bathtub, and double sink, as well as a separate toilet, are also available on the ground floor.
Upstairs, two beautiful bedrooms. The first bedroom has a double bed (160x200), while the second bedroom has three single beds. (Beds are made upon arrival). There is a children's play area, a bathroom with a shower, and a separate toilet.
Private parking is available (public parking is available near the cottage).
Electricity is provided at a reasonable rate of 36 kWh per day. Any excess consumption will be payable on site to the hosts (€0.50/kWh if exceeded).
