“Friends insisted we try , and walking into the lobby felt like stepping off a train in Garmisch. It's been family-run since 1989, and the 16 rooms are filled with Bavarian furnishings imported from Austria and Germany, not the usual tourist kitsch. Having lived in Germany for several years, we caught ourselves slipping into German at the front desk out of habit.
We didn't meet the owners, but Donna at reception took wonderful care of us from early check-in through checkout. Warm, efficient,...
