Villa del XVIII secolo a Olive Grove

  • Le Vieux Moulin è una grande casa provenzale restaurata con vista sul borgo medievale di Seillans (classificato come uno dei borghi più belli di Francia con i suoi ristoranti, negozi e strade pedonali acciottolate). Una breve passeggiata lungo la corsia posteriore vi porta lì.

    Una piscina con una magnifica vista sulle montagne e sul villaggio si trova sul lato opposto del grande uliveto

    La casa ha una grande terrazza esterna, piastrellata in marmo travertino e ombreggiata da glicine, ideale per una mite cena all'aperto e una splendida vista sul villaggio e sulle montagne dell'Esterel.

    La casa riflette lo spirito dell'artista che l'ha originariamente restaurata: pavimenti piastrellati in travertino o tradizionale terracotta provinciale, piastrelle spagnole dipinte a mano nei bagni e in cucina, opere d'arte e oggetti d'antiquariato sia all'interno che all'esterno.

    L'ambiente è estremamente tranquillo e confortevole e un breve tragitto in auto vi porterà ai mercati dei villaggi vicini (Fayence, Bargemon, Mons), ai musei di Vence e Antibes o al fascino e all'eccitazione della Costa Azzurra (45 minuti a Cannes, un'ora a St. Tropez o Nizza).

    La casa ha quattro camere da letto al piano superiore e un bagno completo (con vasca / doccia, WC e bidet) al piano superiore. C'è un ulteriore bagno al piano di sotto con un antico lavandino scolpito da un unico pezzo di pietra. Tre delle camere hanno letti queen size e la quarta camera da letto è divisa in due camere più piccole, una con letto matrimoniale e una con un letto singolo. Ogni camera ha una scrivania e viste meravigliose. Una delle camere da letto si apre sull'oliveto sul retro della casa, consentendo due ingressi separati per una maggiore privacy.

    La cucina è stata completamente rinnovata nel 2011 con un nuovo doppio lavabo, lavastoviglie, cucina a gas, forno elettrico e ampio spazio di preparazione. Un tavolo in cucina può ospitare quattro e una sala da pranzo separata può ospitare comodamente otto. La veranda esterna facilmente accessibile ha posti a sedere per 12 persone con una vista favolosa sul villaggio di Seillans del XII secolo.

    Il soggiorno ha un televisore, lettore DVD, biblioteca di casa e sistema audio CD. Ci sono 2 grandi divani per rilassarsi.

    La sala da pranzo separata può anche essere utilizzata come studio - ha un grande tavolo antico aggiuntivo vicino alla finestra e una stampante / forniture per ufficio in un armadio adiacente.

This farmhouse is a very special place. It is wonderfully authentic with stunning views of the pretty village of Seillans. The rooms have an simple and eclectic feel with unique furnishing that hint to the homes artistic owners past. You arrive in the picturesque village of Seillans the drive up to the home through a mature Olive grove. The home is set in a large garden with a good sized pool that enjoys wonderful views of the village. The whole family loved our stay here where we were transported back in time to an elegant restful place.

Relaxation Galore!

My friends and I stayed here for a week in August 2023 and it was truly superb! The pool and overall ambiance of the home and grounds make for a relaxing and rejuvenating holiday. Quickly Shay's home felt like our home which was lovely. Shay and her property manager, Faye, were very attentive and eager to make our stay as pleasant as possible. We hope to be back!

We have had an excellent holiday here. Beautiful views into Seillans. The house was very clean, comfortable and well-equipped. The pool was great. The house is very convenient for walking into the town and as a base to visit the coast. Faye, the property manager, was lovely and very helpful. We look forward to visiting again in the future.

Wonderful stay -- to be repeated!

This review is long overdue but although our stay at this lovely villa was in August, we are still reveling in the memories of our time at this wonderful house in Seillans. The house is large and most comfortable, with fantastic views of the town of Seillans from the shaded front patio. The location, a short walk to the centre of the village, meant that we could leave the car at home. From the local pizza place, to the coffee and croissants at Bar Charlot to the gorgeous Gloire de Mon Pere restaurant, every meal we had in town was fantastic. We enjoyed the small shops in Seillans and I even got the best haircut of my life at Salon Carre Noir. Day trip possibilities abound, but we most enjoyed staying in Seillans with the occasional outing to the market in neighboring Fayence. As mentioned by a previous reviewer, the kitchen is very well equipped and we even attempted to bake our own brioche! The owner is extremely helpful and available by email and tel literally 24/7 when i couldn't figure out how to light the stove, which was much appreciated! Can't rave enough!

Authenticité et rusticité Provençale

Le charme de la maison opère instantanément : vue dominante sur le village de Seillans depuis la terrasse abritée d'une vieille treille. L'intérieur est spacieux ; la disposition des chambres idéale. Le mobilier est quelque peu désuet, mais contribue au charme de la bâtisse. Une ombre au tableau, pas des moindres : le réseau électrique de la maison est totalement obsolète : coupures intempestives régulières (plusieurs fois pour chaque cycle de machines à lever / Lave vaisselle) ce qui contraint à un réarmement régulier au tableau. La piscine est éloignée de la maison, et peu exploitable en raison d'un contour très étroit. Le terrain est grand ; à l'abris de tout vis-à-vis. Le propriétaire et la personne en charge de la location sont aussi sympathiques que disponibles ; mais trop souvent sollicités en raison des désordres électriques… Un bon rapport qualité / prix nonobstant ces désagréments, auxquels il faudra remédier.

Maison charmante, magnifique vue sur le village. Propriétaire très sympa. Énormément de charme. Piscine assez grande. Quelques aspects un peu vieillot comme l'électricité qui saute régulièrement, pas d'éclairage dans la piscine et peu de confort autour.

Un lieu magique et paisible!

Nous avons passé trois semaines à la Maison du Vieux moulin et nous avons apprécié chaque moment. La maison est typique d'une maison en Provence, est assez grande pour accueillir plusieurs personnes et possède toutes les commodités nécessaires. Des épiceries et des restaurants sont disponibles près de la maison. La vue sur Seillans et la proximité de ce village agrémentent le séjour. La piscine est assez grande pour faire de l'exercice et permet de se rafraîchir lors des journées chaudes. C'est un lieu paisible tout en ayant plein de choses à faire aux alentours (Gorges du Verdon, marché de Fayence, musée de la parfumerie à Grasse, etc.). Il y a beaucoup de beaux trajets pour les adeptes du vélo ou de la marche. J'espère y retourner un jour!

Le séjour était particulièrement agréable à huit, la maison est bien équipée et le village de Seill

La terrasse sous la treille avec une vue magnifique sur le village est le point fort de la maison. Nous avons beaucoup apprécié le jardin planté d'oliviers et d'un immense tilleul, la piscine très bien entretenue et la présence d'une bibliothèque d'ouvrages en anglais et français qui ont enrichi le séjour.

Peaceful charm with pool and a stunning view

My girlfriend and I stayed in this beautiful old house for a week and had a wonderful time. The terrace overlooking the village is a spectacular place for evening meals, and the pool is perfect during the day time. The house is cool inside and the kitchen extremely well equipped. Seillans is the perfect summer hideaway with two exceptional restaurants within walking distance of the house, and several others a short drive away. All in all an ideal Provencal holiday!

An Idyllic Location

My partner and I just spent two weeks at the Vieux Moulin and we had a lovely romantic getaway. It is secluded, on a large property with olive trees and a pool, yet a short walk to the charming village of Seillans. Our favorite memory will be of dining on the terrace with a wonderful view of the village. We used it as a base to visit many nearby villages and towns in Provence and the Riviera - some with world-class museums. I highly recommend it!

Lovely house in the Provence you imagine

My family had a wonderful two weeks at La Maison. We had as many as 5 adults and 5 kids there at times, and the house comfortably accommodated all of us. It never felt the least bit crowded. The house is a charming, old, authentic place surrounded by olive trees and a pleasant, short walk to Seillans. Each bedroom is bright and spacious (there are effectively 5 bedrooms, though one can only be reached through another). The thick stone walls keep the house cool even on hot days. We ate for the most part on the wisteria-shaded porch, enjoying the spectacular view of Seillans in the distance. In the early evenings, we often walked to the village and picked apples and figs for the kids from a neighbor's trees that reached into the road. Seillans itself is the prettiest village in the region. Mons, Bargemon, Fayence, Tourettes, St. Cezaire, St. Paul, Bagnols-en-Foret, all a short drive away, are charming, but Seillans stands out. As for logistics, the owner and the couple who work as local caretakers are unfailingly pleasant and a delight to work with. Highly recommend.

Happy Family, Glorious Surroundings, Wonderful Week

This was my third visit to La Maison du Vieux Moulin, all be it separated by 15 years ! This year I was accompanied by children and grandchildren and we all had a happy experience. The property and the village is as beautiful as I remembered;it did not disappoint. The house is spacious and comfortable, cool even in the heat and there was always enough hot water for the six of us. The kitchen has been modernized since my last visit and it is well equipped and functions well. The pool was enjoyed by all of us-especially the children. We ate most meals outside, under the wisteria arbor facing the breathtaking view of Seillans, ever changing with the light. A truly magical place.

Comfortable family house

This is a charming, relaxed, family house in a beautiful setting. The view over Seillans is magnificent and being able to walk there to several excellent restaurants was perfect. The house itself shows its age which is as we expected. It is also up a narrow, steep drive which, because the car hire firm had upgrade us to a large people carrier, was a little awkward to navigate. We enjoyed our holiday here very much.

The best house in Seillans

Anyone in search of the true Provencal experience, need look no further. This is just about as good as it gets. A wisteria covered terrace, with a view to die for, an olive grove and old terraces and a lovely pool. The location is stunning, the house is unspoilt, easy and spacious, if you need to spend a month on your own writing, then this would be heaven, or for a family holiday or just a group of friends, it is bliss. Go to visit the neighbouring villages, the Gorges du Verdon or to the coast, all is in within easy reach.

Our favourite holiday destination!

Since 2005 La Maison welcomes us every summer holiday as if we are her best friends! La Maison suits our family enormously since it is big, comfortable, easygoing and beautiful! Surrounded by a large grove with lots of olive trees, surprisingly close (5 minute walk) to the Village Fleurie Seillans with several very nice restaurants and shops yet peaceful and relaxing. The big swimmingpool is always clean and well kept. Most spectaculair feature of the house though is the wisteria covered veranda with a breathtaking view on Seillans! I still have a photograph of that marvelous sight as my desktop image!

We found the house to be charming and comfortable. Its location near the town was perfect. We hope to stay there again.

Repeat Visitor to Le Vieux Moulin

We have been staying in this property for over 20 years. In fact, we have only missed two years since our first rental in 1987. Our stays have been for as long as 2 months and as short as two weeks. During my many years in Seillans I have made many friends, and as a result have visiting dozens of homes in and around Seillans. With out a doubt, the Maison has the most beautiful location of any property in the Village. The interior is pure provencal and the outdoor dining area with it's wonderful view of the village is stunning. There is lots of open space and privacy, yet it is just a 10 minute scenic walk to the heart of the village. I could go on but our repeated visits speaks for themselves.
