Nice, Simple Stay
My wife and I spent the weekend with our son finishing college at Penn State Altoona. We were out and about most of the weekend, but the house was a nice place to come “home” to each night. Definitely quiet and safe.

Beautiful
This is an amazing house to stay at. Mary is a gracious host, is close by if you need anything and doesn't bother you. It is so peaceful and quiet and easy to drive to. You're so close to downtown. Would give a 5 star rating and would go back over and over again. Sincerely the Harpsters

Weekend visit
We book here to visit our son at SFU for family weekend. House was spacious, beds were clean and comfortable. Close to campus and restaurants. Definitely agree with previous comments that the house could use a deep clean as surfaces were dusty. Kitchen had everything we needed and actually could be purged of some dishes/cookware to make locating items easier. Would stay again in the future if needed.

Favorite home to rent when in the area
My family and I have rented this lovely property for several years. It is in a gorgeous setting and the location is ideal. It is extremely well equipped with anything you may need! I highly recommend this home and the host is wonderful as well!

Wonderful!
We enjoyed our stay over Easter. It was a perfect spot to spend Easter with my college kid. So many amenities it was like being home. Mary was easy to communicate with and very responsive. Will be back again!!!

Weekend away
The house is very clean and very well equipped. I would highly recommend it. Also, we are not train people, but took in the Pennsylvania Railroad Museum, Horseshoe Curve, Gallitzin Tunnel, and the Allegheny Portage Railroad Museum. All very well worth the time and experience!

Granny is on a Cruise! Welcome to your Temporary Home
In all fairness I don't know if it was Granny's house that we were housesitting when she was on a cruise with her Eastern European Cooking club, but it sure felt that way. I have never felt more at home in a short term rental then I have here. The house is perfect for a mid-size family. You have everything you need (even if it isn't listed). The neighborhood could not be more peaceful and secluded, while at the same time within five minutes of the interstate, a Walmart, a Flea Market, and a VFW that appears to have something going on every day. Be prepared to wave back at your neighbors. The only fault I have with this location is that it is so peaceful and secluded the original owner doesn't have a deadbolt on the front door just the entry lock, not that big of deal but it may make some of the more paranoid nervous. The Host was amazingly communicative and offered suggestions for alternate activities that we didn't find on Google. While I never considered Central Pennsylvania as a tourist destination, this home definitely makes me want to return for a longer stay.

Scenic and convenient location
We have done numerous rentals in several states, and this home is our favorite! It is perfectly located with close proximity to all the neighboring towns and attractions. The views leading to the home and all around it are just spectacular! The home itself is located in a gorgeous wooded and private setting, and the large deck is a great and relaxing plus where you can enjoy your coffee in the morning and the stars at night. The split bedroom plan with two full baths is ideal for more than two guests, and the home is just lovely with every amenity provided. The hosts are just fabulous! I highly recommend this home!

Our Family Celebration Weekend
We were there for 3 nights celebrating a family milestone, & we enjoyed our stay. It was located close to Altoona & some of our favorite places to go. We took my daughter & grandkids to the Horseshoe curve & the pretzel place while we were in town. We also went to Richey’s Dairy & the Meadows, two of our favorite ice cream places! We would definitely stay there again.

Convenient to Altoona
Mary is very good at getting back to you in a timely manner if you have a question. They put a recliner back in for me to sleep in (I have to sleep sitting up) which I really appreciated. There were more amenities this year than the last time we stayed. You will never run out of wash clothes! We appreciate the quiet area beside the woods. The Wifi works well. It's an easy drive to Altoona and Portage, with some really great views of the mountains along the way,

Great Place with Everything!
Hard to find a place that's got 2 full baths! Stocked with everything you'd need We love the seclusion. No neighbors except the freeway. Usually quiet but the 18-wheelers can ruin a quiet morning coffee. Generally clean but since it's an older house, it could use a thorough dusting.

Has Everything
The house is set up very nicely with a master bedroom & en suite bath on one side, and 2 bedrooms and a bath on the other. Big sunny deck overlooking woods. Good wifi, good smart TV, completely supplied kitchen. In a remote nook but close to everything. Very private.

A lovely home in a gorgeous setting
My siblings and I found the house to be perfect for us. We needed the two full baths and the split bedroom plan is so nice to have. We loved the rear deck and the beautiful setting. The house is amazingly equipped with anything you could possibly need! The views from the road are simply incredible. Mary and her family are wonderful hosts! I highly recommend this property!
