"We chose this cottage in the country to experience the local towns, people, the food, & history. We rented a car & used the cottage as base. Each day we drove to a different castle or locale.Even the Cliffs of Moher was a day trip. Roscrea village was close for groceries. Denise & Joe were very friendly, helpful, kind, & wonderful hosts. Loved all the decor, books, location & Denise’s Irish soda bread was YUMMY! Highly recommend. Debbi & Perry"

"I have to preface this with an *. I had booked the gardener's cottage but there was some sort of booking mishap and the cottage was double booked. To their credit they gave me a room in the main house which was very nice. It was technically an up-grade and there was no charge. "This was a very lovely house, however there was an oil leak with a VERY STRONG ODOR !! This odor gave me a headache. The owner was aware of this problem because her son came over shortly after we arrived, said that they would get someone out to repair it but after 4 nights it was not repaired.. The electric tea kettle had so much red liquid sediment in it I was afraid to use it .. The liquid hand soap dispenser was almost empty in the bathroom. No extra toilet paper was provided."

"This was our first trip to Ireland and we chose the Granary as a home base as we visited many different sites. It is a great location for day trips to Kilkenny, Cliffs of Moher, Waterford, Cahir, Rock of Cashel, Cork and Dublin. Bee is a wonderful host! She met us when we arrived and showed us around. The home is very clean, well appointed and quiet. Upon leaving we didn’t have to worry about any chores which was wonderful! Highly recommend!"

"Yvonne and Peter couldn't be more accommodating! Yvonne met us to discuss the cottage. She had nice touches to make everything cozy. It was incredibly clean! We felt at home immediately! It was a wonderful base camp for Kilkenny and several other places. We loved Portlaoise and enjoyed several trips into town ( only a 10 minute drive) We loved their dogs and enjoyed spending time getting to know them. ( Our choice, they are very respectful of privacy) I absolutely recommend their place 100%!!"

Wir hätten uns gewünscht, dass wir einen Kontakt in der Nähe gehabt hätten, der uns auch etwas einweisen hätte können. Der Vermieter ist in Amerika. Er war zwar sehr bemüht uns bei Problemen zu helfen, aber ein persönlicher Kontakt wäre einfach sinnvoller gewesen. Für Gruppen und Familien sehr zu empfehlen."
