Cozy year round retreat! Close to skiing, hiking and swimming.

Welcome to our cozy cottage in the Catskills! We are located close to both Hunter and Windham Mountains, as well as Colgate Lake, North South Lake and numerous hiking trails. Sit and relax on our front deck and enjoy the peace and tranquility this property has to offer.

We offer everything needed for a comfortable stay -- fully stocked kitchen complete with dishwasher and coffee makers (K cup or drip), washer and dryer, quality bedding, and cozy couches. Remote work is made easy with upgraded and reliable high-speed cable internet, and a desk area in a quiet bedroom.

We have three bedrooms, two of which have queen-sized beds. The third bedroom (kid's room) has a bunk bed and trundle, sleeping three comfortably. Outdoors you can relax in our comfy chairs on the front deck or cook on the propane gas grill. There is plenty of yard space to lounge, play, and warm up next to our fire pit.

We are out in the country on an acre, but close to so many activities. The house is located in East Jewett, in the heart of Catskills, next to Tannersville and Hunter. There is so much to see and do, and we are close to several wedding venues in the area.

For calming activities, we can recommend local spots for yoga, acupuncture, massage, or a spa day. For people looking to ski or snowboard, Hunter Mountain, Belleayre, Windham, and Plattekill ski areas are all close by. Winter enthusiasts can enjoy snow shoeing, cross country skiing, and winter hiking. Year round there are endless hiking and mountain biking options, and in the summer it’s only a few minutes to Colgate and North South Lakes. And let's not forget the fall-leaf peeping season with gorgeous autumnal colors to be found all around.

If shopping is your thing, farm-stands and vintage and antique stores can be found all along Route 23 A. For foodies, we are close to delicious options including the Deer Mountain Inn, Jessie's, Jaegerburg, Hunter Mountain Brewery, Selena's Diner, and many more.

This is a perfect stay for a family. The cabin is so cosy with everything you need for a home away from home. We loved the idyllic setting and being so close to the best hikes that the Catskills mountains offers. Would highly recommend a stay!

Greeted by a family of deer when we arrived! Beautiful home. Loved having a fire our first night there. Close to lots of great food and things to do. Elissa was a great host. The only downside was not being able to stay even longer!

Had a very pleasant week at “Sun and Ski” in early August! The host was very responsive, check-in was very easy, and the home was in very tidy and clean condition upon arrival. The house is well stocked with linens and other needs, including spices and kitchen-ware, coffeemakers for both ground coffee and K-cups. The bedrooms all have bureaus and closets — makes for a much more relaxing stay, if you don’t like a messy house! Too often we’ve found a rental to be uncomfortable simply because there was no place to put our STUFF. There is ample space for dining (or your laptops), and plenty of seating in the living room area. We even liked the artwork!Other small niceties included NIGHT LIGHTS! A small thing, but it shows that the host makes this a HOME to her guests. Air conditioners worked very well, but the home stays pretty cool, even in August, and they weren’t needed much. The house is well insulated and very quiet, with ample privacy from the neighbors. The home is centrally located among three towns with many dining options, a grocery, and convenience stores. Several nice golf courses between 10 and 40 minutes away, and hiking options for miles all around. Or take a drive through the western Catskills “wilderness,” and lose yourself for a day among the mountains, vast forests, and small mountain towns. Sun and Ski has everything you need for a relaxing week in the mountains, with all the comforts of home.

An Idyllic Rest in the Catskills

I have stayed at many different places in the Catskills during the last 20 years. This house was such a surprise and a standout! Some VRBO properties feel sterile and generic. This one felt like you were actually in a home! It was decorated carefully and tastefully, and was truly welcoming. The bedrooms were spacious and the beds very comfortable. Virtually every kitchen appliance or utenstil was there and in good shape and working order. The location of the home is super, with a very short ride to Tannersville and Windham. I hope to come back for another stay here in the not too distant future!

Great base camp for Catskills getaway

Lovely house in a great location for outdoor adventures. Kitchen was stocked with everything you might need, and lots of fun games for entertainment. Host was responsive and a joy to interact with at check in and check out. I recommend this house without hesitation.

Another Excellent Stay

We have stayed here multiple times and have never been disappointed. We were lucky enough to have a fox stroll by the property and we managed to get some good pictures. Also, many deer dropped by. The area is quiet and just a wonderful get away location with many things to do in the area. Elissa is a great host as well! Will definitely be going back again!!

Excellent Experience

Stayed at the property with a group of friends to do some local hiking. Everything was seamless with very clear instructions, the house was very well taken care of and clean. Can’t wait to come back again to explore more of the trails in the area.

Leaf peeping and family ancestry

The house was so comfortable for my elderly aunt and myself. We spent the weekend in the Catskills to see the amazing autumn colors and do some research on our family history. It's a beautiful house with all of the amenities any guest would need. The rooms are spacious, the bathroom is gorgeous, and the porch was so relaxing. The house is close to Tannersville for groceries, restaurants, etc. and a convenient drive to Kaaterskill Falls, New Paltz, Kingston, Woodstock, and many other nearby towns. I would highly recommend this house for any family getaway!

Excellent!

The house is beautifully located in the Catskill Mountain's. A short drive to both Tannersville & Hunter and a scenic drive to Woodstock/Kingston. We hiked Blackhead Mountain and Hunter Mountain Fire Tower. The home has everything you will need . Everything was clean and very comfortable . Great dark nights to watch the stars. Highly recommend. Elissa is very responsive and gets back to you right away.

Excellent Place To Relax

The house is great and the location is as well. Waking up and looking outside to see deer in the front yard is a treat. Everything in the immediate area is 10 minutes away. If you want to explore further into Saugerties {Krause's Chocolates) or Woodstock (Woodstock Meats) it's only 30 minutes and a scenic drive to boot. Elissa is a great host to just put the icing on the cake. Looking forward to our stay next year already... If not sooner!

Great getaway

My friends and I had an awesome stay at the house. We were looking forward to our getaway in a new place. We are friends from college and get together every year. We had never stayed in the Catskills. The house was very clean and the communication with the host was fantastic. The house was fully stocked for whatever you could need. It was an easy arrival and closing to leave. I would totally recommend this house to others who want a quaint and cozy getaway. Loved all the decor and furnishings!
