We felt unwelcome on the property simply because we were staying for only two nights with our three kids. Avoid this place if staying with kids
Within the first 10 minutes of checking in around 3 PM, we received phone calls reporting noise complaints from someone on the ground floor, we were on the second floor. While our kids were simply walking around, using the bathroom, and behaving as kids do, there was no excessive noise.
After the first call, we reminded the kids to walk instead of runing and turned on a movie to minimize movement, yet the complaints persisted. They literally expected our kids to be confined to their beds in the middle of the day.
By the third call, we expressed our frustration, explaining that the noise couldn't have been from us as the kids were watching movies, and requested to be moved to the ground floor. They relocated us to the main floor directly below our original room, confirming our suspicion that the complaint wasn't about us since there was nobody below us to begin with. It felt like we were targeted simply because they heard a complaint and assumed a family with three kids was responsible.
This was further validated when my brother-in-law, who checked in after we moved to the first floor, overheard someone at the front desk complaining about noise. We've stayed at another Townplace location in Calgary multiple times and always had wonderful experiences, but we will never return to the Edmonton location.
