Newly Updated Elk Rapids Retreat

Welcome to our getaway in Elk Rapids, Michigan, nestled between the Elk River and Bass lake, and just across the bridge from Downtown Elk Rapids and Lake Michigan! Our charming rental offers a main cottage featuring two cozy bedrooms and two studio cottages each with their own full bathroom, all recently updated! We comfortably accommodate up to 8 guests, with the added privacy of 3 separate units, all located surrounding a shared outdoor area for you to enjoy.

We all really enjoyed our stay. It was nice to have separate houses so that some could go to bed early while the rest of us stayed up playing games. The location is great, being right across the street from a grocery store and an excellent brunch place (Ames St Cafe). Loved having the grill and fire pit.The negatives were related to the cleaning and associated fees. You are expected to essentially do all the cleaning yourselves, while still paying a 200 cleaning fee per night. And even with that, upon check-in we found floss on the ground in the bathroom, black/dirty spots in the shower, a shower with a broken seal, and a towel hook that ripped right out of the wall because of no stud or drywall anchors.Overall loved the place and would stay again…if the cleaning measures become less draconian or the cleaning fee gets reduced by at least 50%.

Ants in 2 of 3 cottages. Internet doesn’t reach 3rd cottage so no tv or internet there. Towel hook falls out of wall. 2 electric outlets are missing face plates. Oven in main cottage doesn’t work. Was supposed to be fixed, never was. Grass growing at front door entrances. Air conditioner filter filthy.

Our family had a fantastic time! There were 6 of us that stayed in the 3 cabins. The kitchen in the main cabin was stocked with everything we needed. There is a very nice outdoor grill, picnic tables that are gorgeous and a great firepit. The host even supplied wood (we didn't use it but it was a wonderful touch). The beds were super comfy and we were close to everything. The Ames Cafe across the street has a fantastic breakfast. They open at 9:00am everyday so get there early as they are packed. We are looking forward to our next visit.

Overall we had a great time at this property. Had a little bit of a rocky start when the cleaning crew had not came through. However, the property manager worked fast to solve the problem. We returned to a super clean home and the rest of the stay was phenomenal. The only complaint I have was their were quite a few bugs in the main home; ants on the counters and fruit flys in surrounding areas.

Great spot, great location

We had a wonderful time here, we were a group of 10 and it fit us perfectly. Everything was clean and there was plenty of space for everyone to hang out. The outdoor space is perfect.

Perfect stay !

The property was perfect for out group, each couple had their own very cute and cozy space, with a shared area perfect for barbecue, breakfast or just chatting. Ver well decorated and perfectly located. The supermarket and gas station are on the corner. Any time we need the host he was super fast to reply:) Thank you for the amazing vacation:)

Adorably decorated and incredibly convenient!

We were on a 2 week road trip to the UP and western shoreline of Michigan and this was our favorite place we stayed! Super cute, comfortable and thoughtfully decorated. Everything you need in a rental was included. The location was ideal too. We walked everywhere. It was nice staying in Elk Rapids and was a short drive to everything you want to do in Traverse City as well. Highly recommend staying here!
