Great girls and pups weekend!
While the weather was rainy and sleety, we were able to enjoy walking the property and even ventured up the closest trail whoch is at a firegate entrance very close. Nice weekend with the girls and our pups. Road to the house was better than expected. Enjoyed making a fire inside and appreciate having a full tank of gas on the grill outside waiting for us. Our pups still enjoyed getting in the stream water even in the wintry mix of rain and sleet. Great time and looking forward to coming back in warmer months to enjoy the swimming in the stream and river. Thanks for sharing your home with us!

Super cute and cozy
The house was so nice and cozy and clean with easy-to-follow instructions on check in and out. It was supplied with plates, pots, pans, utensils, etc. So cooking is a ready option as there weren't many common options to eat (for us, at least) If you like the quiet and seclusion then I would recommend giving this place a try!

Fall Break Trip with the Kids
We had a wonderful and relaxing stay in this cozy cabin. It was well supplied with all the basics and more in the kitchen. The hot tub was nice under the stars and the fire pit was in a great spot. We walked over to the river and saw lots of deer and small wildlife. The bathrooms were unexpectedly nice for a cabin and even had heated floors. We enjoyed unplugging and playing some games as a family and spending a lot of time outdoors. Our host was really responsive when I had a question about the hot tub and sent someone over to check on it. The grill was clean with full propane and there was plenty of firewood. We went horseback riding one day in Davis and checked out Blackwater falls one day, as well as Seneca Rocks. I recommend this property for a family.

An oasis on the river
A beautiful, serene location. Had a campfire every night while listening to the creek run over the rocks. Finished each evening with someone in the hot tub. Our granddaughter love sleeping in the sunroom and even woke up one morning watching a ground hop. We saw deer every night, caught some fish at the river and loved every minute of it.

Mountainside paradise
I didn’t realize booking this stay in January that most places in town were closed the days we would be there, but that didn’t matter at all because we never wanted to leave the house! Upon arrival the outside is perfect. Such a huge lawn and so well kept. Then inside it’s super clean, very inviting and relaxing in every room. Our dogs and kids had such a blast discovering the stream and river, or just playing ball and watching stars in the big flat lawn, or swinging on the porch swing or enjoying the hot tub. Without WiFi nobody would have had any cell service in the area, I enjoyed unplugging and enjoying nateure for a few days. The host always an absolute treasure to deal with from the very beginning. I would absolutely tell someone to stay at this cabin and I honestly don’t think I’ll find another place that will top this one. Thanks so sharing your slice of almost heaven with us!

Gorgeous property
We very much enjoyed our mini-vacation on this farm. It was perfect for what we were looking for. Ultimately, if you're looking for a country getaway far away from the hustle and bustle, this is a great place, and the river was wonderful! Our only qualification would be that the wifi/dsl was extremely slow, which was honestly a plus for us since this decreased our teenager's screen time. Just come with the expectation of "unplugging" a little and you'll have a wonderful time! Thanks again for a great stay!

River Access and Beautiful Property
This was our 2nd stay at this beautiful property. We love the river access and exploring the area. Plenty of room in the cabin for 5 adults and 2 kids. Ate dinner at the high table and set up a puzzle and games at the sunroom table for a rainy day and evening activities. Plenty of wood for fire pit and cleanest gas grill I have seen. Hot tub warmed up quick. Room to park our bikes when we weren’t riding on the road or on the driveway. Saw deer in the front and back meadow every day. Great communication with host. Planning to come back again someday! We love to come to the area to ride the trains.

Great long weekend
We spent a long weekend at this property and it was very relaxing and peaceful. This was our second stay and our pup loved all the area to run and play. We took several walks around the property each day. Such a nice path from the house through the field to the river. River level low due to not much rain which is nothing that can be controlled. We had a small issue while we were there and the owner was very responsive and sent someone to fix it. The road is narrow leading to the property but that is what makes it so peaceful.. no traffic. We will be back! 😊

Shavers Fork vacation
Great place for outdoor fun. Enjoyed seeing wildlife in the evenings and morning. Our dog lost weight investigating all the smells and wildlife trails. The kids played ball and used their flying toys without fear of getting them caught in trees. Great place for a moat control vehicle’s. The river was beautiful and access. It was really good although fishing wasn’t so good.

Retreat
The property was amazing. Having the tygart valley river in the back yard was spectacular. Sitting in the hot tub of an evening looking at the mountains was very relaxing after hiking. Our border collie was happier than we have ever seen him. The property managers were Johnny on the spot when a problem arose. Couldn’t have been happier with our choice.

Mountain stream spring retreat.
Great location and property. Loved kayaking the river and looking for fossils on the beach bank! The hot tub and fire pit were welcome companions after a long day of exploring wild wonderful WV. Will stay again!

Fun Getaway
We took our brother and sister-in-law to Elkins, WV for a birthday celebration weekend. The house was located in a remote area - just like the description said. Because it rained all weekend we had to stay inside most of the time. Thankfully we were able to watch TV, DVD's and play games. This place was well stocked with DVD's and books. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen had everything that we needed to prepare our meals. We are thankful that we had rented this house and not motel rooms. It made our weekend very enjoyable!

Wonderful, Private Retreat
We've been to Elkins/Beverly area several times and have always stayed in the same house, but this one was new for us. It's absolutely perfect. Everything you need is provided, including firewood. The beds and furniture are comfortable, everything was clean, and we were able to bring our fur kid, who we now realize is a water dog after taking him down to the river. The showers both have skylights, which is a great detail. The road to get there is narrow and a little harrowing if another car is coming, but we stayed for a week and only passed four other vehicles. This is privacy and seclusion at its finest!

Summer Vacation
We enjoyed our stay! The weather was perfect. The river was awesome for fishing and rafting fun! We explored Elkins and rode the train. The house was clean and cozy! The house had all the dishes, pots & pans and towels you need. The bathrooms were beautifully remodeled. Enjoyed swinging on the front porch! If your not used to driving on mountain roads the road was narrow with no guard rails, very steep drops (two cars can not pass each other). Wasn’t an issue for us but if not prepared it can be scary.

Summer Vacation
The house itself was nice. We loved the skylights in the showers - nicely updated showers. There was certainly plenty of room. The road to the cabin made it a little unpleasant to go in and out of the area. It was only 4 miles long but it has dozens of pot holes. I know they are not the responsibility of the owner, but I think that they should be part of the description until the county fixes them. Also I think that if you are coming to clean right after renters leave at 10 am on the morning of departure, you could expect a little less cleaning from them. I have a place in the country and know what it's like to deal with mice so I understand the reasoning behind what is asked, but for instance if someone is coming within an hour of departure, I don't think it needs to be on the renter to put washed dishes away. or strip the beds. These are 2 items I have not had to do at other locations. We did enjoy our stay. It is a beautiful area even though the property is not directly on the river as the description implies except at one end of the property. When we did have questions or issues, they did respond almost immediately, which was great.

Memorable Family Cabin Vacation
Loved this location- secluded and quiet. Short walk to river to fish and wade. Spent time on the creek exploring the rocks. Loved having the mowed areas to walk the property and bike the driveway and quiet road. Stored our bikes in the garage. Excellent communication from booking to checkout. Clean cabin inside and out (including the grill). Room for the grandparents to stay with us and my boys loved the bunk bed room. Hot tub in the perfect location on the back deck with a large area for the fire pit nearby. Was able to take some pictures of the Milky Way from the back yard. Enjoyed the porch swing and hammock for relaxing. Everything we needed to cook for the week was in the kitchen, we just brought the food. We also rode the trains in Elkins and Durbin and visited the Cass Scenic Railroad Station. We are already are planning to come back someday! We have stayed at several properties and this is the one that checks off all boxes on the wishlist!

Gem in West Virginia
The location of this cabin is idyllic. It's private and serene. The perfect place to unplug, enjoy and explore nature, and relax in a cozy environment. We were here during a snow storm and it was perfect. The woodstove kept the cabin warm, and added to the rustic atmosphere of the home. And we enjoyed sitting out in the snow in the hot tub. The host is super responsive and made our trip super easy with check in/out directions, recommendations of local ammenities and attractions, and coordinating quick snow removal on the walks and driveway.

We love walking our dog on the 27 acres and to the river. We went up the road and did a hike into the forest. Owners even had little nightstands attached to the wall for ur book. Very clean and organized. Watched a lot of football, ate a lot of turkey, watched the deer. It was perfect!

Peace and Quiet
If you are looking for a place to disconnect, this is it. It is extremely peaceful here. At any time throughout the day it is quiet with a faint sound of the river. The house was clean, comfortable and has everything one needs to enjoy thier stay. A good amount of deer frequent the property and it's nice to sit on the porch swing and watch them. Although it was raining most of our stay, we were able to enjoy the hot tub. That's an experience in itself. Larisa is a top notch host as she was easy to communicate with and the property is well maintained.

Peace and Quiet
This was just what the doctor ordered. We needed to getaway to unplug and relax for a few days and this was the perfect place to do it. It was nice a quiet and we enjoyed not having anyone else in sight. Sitting on the porch swing with a cup of coffee in the mornings listening to the birds was one of our favorite things to do followed closely by relaxing in the hammock and making smores over the fire. The cabin was well equipped and comfortable. We would highly recommend this cabin for anyone looking for a quiet and relaxing getaway.

If you're looking for a remote getaway, this is it. Beautiful fields, river & stream are easily accessible. Lots of wildlife and a great fire pit. Hot tub was nice.. House was well stocked with board games, books, and the kitchen had everything you would need. Cell phone coverage and internet are spotty, which is perfect if you want to get the husband or kids unplugged.

Had such a great time!!!
We stayed for a weekend in May with our dog. We enjoyed walking thru the meadow and the river was beautiful! Only issue was the weather was too chilly to enjoy the water or sit out under the stars but we will remember that for next time! Very secluded and quiet … could definitely get used to that! Property was exactly how it is pictured and we had a wonderful time. No issues whatsoever. Thanks for sharing your property!

Secluded relaxing getaway
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Everything was exactly as described. The location was very secluded and rural, but we could get to the heart of the river for fishing within 10mins. The internet was kinda slow and we had no cell service, but it was expected when we are going “off the grid”. We would definitely stay here again and have already recommended it to friends!

Hidden Gem
This little house was exactly as portrayed on the web. It is very casual and homey. We hiked Senaca Rock and went to Bickle Knob tower which as a 360 view. There are two lovely paintings in the house that I believe were done by the owner- she is talented for sure. There is a hot tub right out the back but we did not use it. Lovely grounds and lots of privacy with a nice trail down to the river- think trout😃Our two tiny dogs loved running in the field and BTW we saw a lot of deer here and other critters.

Great mountain river property. Comfortable house. We enjoyed playing in the river and soaking in the hot tub. House was well equipped with everything we needed. Lots of hiking trails in the area, and the property is large enough for casual walking, When the river is high, fun family kayaking is available. Fishing is available, but I think the stocked trout got a little fished out this year. Isolated, but not too far away from civilization. We had a great time and will definitely consider returning.

Relaxing, secluded, and gorgeous!
If you’re looking for a private, secluded, quiet, restful, beautiful vacation spot...this is the one! This cozy house was just perfect for our family, and dog!! The listing is just as described. The property is stunning. We only left the house once to make a quick grocery trip! Otherwise, we spent our days by the river, our evenings on the porch swing or by the fire, and soaked in every inch of nature. Larisa was very quick to respond to the few texts I sent! Everything at the home was easy to find. The house is shaded, so it never really got super hot in the house. We ran one air conditioner during the day, and it was plenty cool! We were definitely not ready to come home after spending a week here! It literally felt like a completely different world...a wonderful escape from the hustle of real life at home :) *Sidenote- we were here during the times of COVID. I know there were extra measures taken to make sure the home was clean. We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect vacation during these crazy times!
