Hudson Haven is an extremely cute house in a quiet residential part of Emerald Isle. We enjoyed our stay with our friends. Our intent was to maximize time at the beach. The house was very clean, well maintained, and generally well appointed to handle the needs of our group. The host was very responsive. The home only had a Keurig single serving coffee maker...we brought all the fixings for a full, 12 cup coffee maker. For 4 adults, it is hard to make a single serve kcup maker meet demand. Also, there is not a dishwasher in the house, which we overcame, but folks should plan accordingly. Finally, the house is a little over a half mile from the beach, which is clearly stated in the property description. However, that is a long walk with kids and heat advisories, or when one is trying get off the beach quickly. This is mitigated by the golf cart which the kids loved, but the cart only seats four and we had 7 folks. We ended up doing alot of shuttling with vans/golf cart to get people and gear to/from the beach. Also, there is limited cart parking at the closesest beach accesses, and if you leave you may not find a close spot, at the height of the season/day. Whether walking, carting, driving or biking, crossing NC58/Emerald Drive can be difficult and there is no crosswalk at the closest intersectiont think Frogger. These are just things to plan for. Shopping/dinning is close and we otherwise had a wonderful time with our friends at the super cute Hudson Haven.
