Physical Condition- overall, the place is in great condition, sliding glass doors are solid and first class, so are the bath and fixtures. The kitchen area is a little small, but the bedroom and bath are quite large. The pool is a dipping pool, but my wife liked it. There is a large picnic table, plus two lounges with cushions on the deck. Bed is quite large and comfy. There were some loud birds many of the nights, so light sleepers may want to bring earplugs.
Access- the road to the development is in pretty bad shape - twisting, narrow, many potholes, and no center line, so cars often go from side to side to the middle to avoid potholes. This was true of most of the roads we were on in Antigua, though traffic was light, so we had no close calls, but there were many blind curves, no guardrails, in retrospect, I probably would not have rented a car and just used taxis .
The driveway is pretty steep, so we mostly parked off to the side below the driveway . There are stairs to the left that lead you up to the stairs to the apt. I didn't find the stairs to be a huge issue, and we went up and down several times each day.
Beach- Galleon is a small beach, we only went there twice, it is very gentle, no waves , more like a lake. Saw tons of fish while snorkeling there. The onsite restaurant Loose Canon was a bit expensive, but the burgers were extremely good. We went to Pigeon Beach 10 to 15 min drive - plenty of trees provided shade, and it was nice to have the folding chairs from the apartment - she also has a cooler. We prefered the beaches with views of turquoise water - such as Ffyes, Darkwood, and Half Moon, though Ffryes was about a 45 minute drive over mostly narrow and twisty roads - just drive slowly looking out for obstacles such as animals, people, potholes, parked cars and speed bumps.
Internet was sporadic the first few days, but Yorie changed out some equipment and it was fine the last few days. Yorie was very easy to reach though the VRBO app, and very helpful.
Dining, most nights we went to English Harbor, plenty of good restaurants to choose from and it is about a 10 minute drive.
Safety - we felt safe the entire time we were there. There is a guard shack and gate at the entrance to the development, and I understand there are 2 guards on staff at all times. We ran into John, one of the guards, was very helpful and walked throughout the grounds regularly.
