Hi Amy, thanks for staying with us and for providing a through review! Those are always appreciated. She's an old house, and we do our best to keep her comfy though sometimes the layout can be funky. We are doing a hostel redesign this winter to update and refresh, so come back again in the Spring as see the changes we've made! Also, you are 100% welcome to leave your bedding in your room, but it's a nice gesture to staff if you want to strip it. Community lodging always appreciates those little moments.

Hi Dagan, we're sorry you feel that way. You were not solely kicked out because you had pizza and beer cans in the room. You broke multiple basic rules, such as hopping over our fence twice after our common areas were closed, which is a security risk to both guests and staff staying here. You also urinated outside of our property even though there was a restroom next to your room.

Hi David, sorry it wasn't what you expected. We do have working lights in all of our guest rooms, it seems like you weren't able to find the light switch. As for the AC, it is an old house so AC is not installed however, we do provide fans for guest rooms. We do have a layout of the hostel in our listing so people know about any stairs or such and can try to get a room on the ground floor if they prefer.

Unfortunately, Spencer's behavior that took place outside of the Hostel towards one of the work-traders was what warranted his removal. Beyond he's behavior was vulgar and obscene language being used along with threats.

Hi Yu! We're sorry that you were unaware of the policy, but it is written on our Expedia listings, in the confirmation email, in the pre-arrival email, and on our website. I've doubled checked, and it's on the emails we sent you :). We are a hostel, which means our work traders are the ones who struggle when guests don't follow policies. We enforce the late checkout, because our work traders only have 4 hours to clean a 31 bed hostel, and any late start they get directly impacts our ability to welcome other guests. Hi Adam, Thanks for the feedback. As we mentioned when you arrived, we are working through a change of management at the moment, and will be addressing all of these issues moving forward. Please note, as per our policies, we do not offer early checkout before 7am for this exact reason. You threw the key through a guest window, rather than the office window. This disturbed our other guests that morning. We also have no way of refunding you the key deposit without your credit card information, which until this past week we didn't have a system to store, so please feel free to call back to get your key deposit done over the phone. To help avoid these issues in the future, we will be instituting a key drop shortly to ensure this process is much simpler in the future. Thanks again for the feedback, as key pieces of it like the key situation allow us to improve through instituting a key drop box and credit card storage for remote deposit return. Hey Paul, It sounds like you had a decent experience but maybe expected a hotel. I'm glad that it was clean, and I do remember doing our best to be accommodating. It's unfortunate that even after having a great experience with me, being checked in early, and having a clean facility and sleeping quarters that we still only rated a 6. That a "D", which is near failing. Is that really your experience? If so, can you please offer some suggestions regarding my need for improvement. I won't stay in business long if that is a typical guests experience. Thanks for the help. Cheers, Mac

We're glad that you had a good stay and that Isaac was accommodating, but very surprised that the bedding wasn't acceptable. It didn't appear that you had used them at all. We ask people not to bring in their own bedding, and not to put gear on the beds for that very reason. It can stain the top blanket(which are super nice, but susceptible to stains). The branches you mentioned are part of a Royal Blue Cedar tree that's been trained to drape along the eves of the house. It makes a great curtain surrounding the porch. We get lot's of comments. Thanks again for staying. I will do my best to address the flaws you pointed out. Hopefully it won't occur again. Cheers
