This location has wonderful views and a pieceful setting. Lovely sunset views and close to town. Most definitely returning. The dog Lucy is also absolutely adorable.

Absolutely stunning property! The cottage has everything you need and was nicely decorated & very clean. Comfortable bed & nice linens. The gardens were such a fabulous surprise! Tom & Tom were so enjoyable to visit with. The views and close proximity to the beach was the cherry on top of our stay.

The cottage is just across the road from the Luffenholtz beach access. Tom was very friendly and encouraged us to explore their property. The cottage is very private and quiet and next to the main house on the hillside surrounded by beautiful landscaping and plants. We really enjoyed our stay and highly recommend it.

The grounds are fantastic! The owners could charge admission just for the flowers. Stand in one place and look at the ocean. Move a few feet and sit in a chair beside a flowing stream. We are repeat visitors for the past 12 years.

Very comfortable, clean and spacious self-contained studio above the garage on the owners’ property, just across the road from the steps down to Luffenholtz beach. While the studio faces away from the coast, the sound of the waves can be heard with the balcony doors open. Don’t forget to explore the gardens surrounding the property, absolutely gorgeous. The road into the property is rough in places but our low clearance car had no trouble. We loved the beachy feel of Trinidad and found this the perfect place to explore Redwoods National Park.

Beautiful Cottage

Beautiful cottage in a great location. The cottage was comfortable, clean, and felt private from property owner. Loved all the windows which made the space feel very open. Host was friendly. Great location for hiking the redwoods.

The loft was lovely. It was foggy Friday night but on Saturday night the fog cleared and we were able to see the stars through the moonroof so we went outside and sat in Adirondack chairs and looked at the stars. Sunday morning before we left we took a walk through your beautiful garden is very peaceful. Thank you so much for a beautiful place to stay on the coast.

Charming little cottage next to the beach. Very peaceful and serene location. We could hear the creek and ocean waves. Great location for visiting Redwood National and State Parks and Moonstone Beach, Agate Beach and Trinidad State Beach. We were out hiking everyday. Enjoyed dinner at Moonstone Grill, just a couple minutes drive from the cottage. Loved the skylight which flooded the unit with natural light. The kitchen is small with just the basics, but it was perfectly functioning and adequate for our needs.

Relaxation, ocean waves & exploring redwoods

Property was perfect for a relaxing stay with stunning beaches "across the street" and down steep stairs. You can hear the waves from the cottage. And it's a great location for further exploring all the Humboldt coast has to offer, including Redwoods and nature refuges. Host were friendly & helpful. Cottage is a comfortable sanctuary.

We liked it so much I think we,ll do it again sometime.If you go you should check out the gardens there beautiful.Everything was very clean and it felt very private.I'd give it two thumbs up all the way.

We had an amazing experience at the seaside cottage. The hosts were incredibly kind and helpful and welcomed us with open arms. We felt very cared for! The property is gorgeous and the setting is absolutely breathtaking. The beach is a short walk and charming downtown Trinidad is a 7-minute drive. We can't wait to come back to this fantastic property in one of our most favorite areas of California.

The Spirit of Luffenholz

This is a creekside property with several acres of professionally designed and installed landscape that will remind one of Butchart Gardens in British Columbia on a smaller scale. The ocean is visible from the front yard and the ocean breakers make a sound that is, well, mesmerizing. You will hear the gurgling of Luffenholz Creek at all times when outside. There is shade parking. The owners are very friendly & gracious, and clearly, spend a lot of time in those gardens. There is delightful pup who will greet you. The rental is an efficiency treehouse apt. above the garage of the main residence. Shaded by giant Redwoods, it has everything you need, including complete privacy. Note that there are 17 steps that climb up to the sublime chill pad.

Sound of the surf from room.

Excellent location. Away from town but very short drive to restaurants and grocery. You could hear the sound of the surf from the room. Short but steep walk to the beach. Owners were very helpful when I had a problem with my car. An excellent stay. Would highly recommend.

Luffenholtz Delight

Great location! 2miles to Trinidad and 103 steps to Luffenholtz beach. Owners are a delight and the grounds are immaculate! We divided our time between sitting in the Adirondack chairs overlooking the ocean, walking along the beach, birding and visiting historic sights in the area.

Lovely Seaside Cottage

This was a perfect place for a dual get-away weekend and wedding celebration. Loved hearing the ocean waves in the morning while on the deck and admiring the natural beauty of this magnificent part of California!
