Budd Family Farm Hideaway

Take it easy at this unique and tranquil Barndominum in the Mountains of TN. Sit by the pond and watch the wildlife. Relax in the Hammock. Enjoy a fire on a cool night. Cool off in the pool (closed for season). Explore the sights and sounds of East TN. Pets are family and are welcome, please reach out for additional Pet Policy information. Fishing enthusiasts are welcome as well, we are 25 minutes from Chickamauga. Secure parking and outlets available for your boat.

The space
25-acre property, mowed paths, and some woods. 20 minutes from Dayton and Pikeville. About 50 miles from Chattanooga and 75 miles from Knoxville. 115 miles from Pigeon Forge and 140 miles from Nashville. A nice central location for seeing TN. There is plenty of fishing and hiking nearby. 2 golf courses within a few miles. Laurel Falls State Park is just down the road and Falls Creek Falls State Park is only an hour away. The Barndominum is an apartment on the back end of a large garage. It faces the pond, so you have complete privacy. Our area is Secluded and Safe.

If you do want to book with us, just a reminder that you are coming up on a mountain, and your signal can vary depending on where you are on your trip which can affect your GPS and making calls. We use Wifi calling on the property so please set up your phone accordingly. We ask that you check the directions before you head up and we will remind you the day of your travel to help keep you journey smooth.

We work very hard to keep the apartment clean and use pest control services regularly, but we are careful not to overuse toxic chemicals in and around the farm. With all that, a bug might sneak in. (IE: Spider, Lightening bugs, ants, or even a bee). None of these bugs are harmful and we are happy to remove them.

Along with bugs and critters, we also have wildlife such as Foxes, Skunks, Muskrats, Deer, Raccoons, Mice, Opossums, Eagles, Osprey, Blue and Green Herons, Otters and Muskrats, as well as others. Some wildlife we listed are never seen. Others, you will see occasional, especially in early morning or evening.

We can lose power up on the mountain like anyplace and will do everything to keep you updated if you have booked with us. That said, we have a small generator designated just for the Apartment which we can hook up, to allow the essentials to run in the space if it is going to be down for an extended period. Welcome to the great outdoors!

1.5 Bath, large master bedroom with King Bed. 50" Smart Tv and Local Antenna, Wi-Fi, even out on the large, covered patio. Patio includes a TV, Radio, Hammock, Fire Pit. Enjoy use of the pool (closed for season) and the pond.

Other things to note
We are onsite, along with our dogs, cats, ducks and chickens if you need anything. If we don't answer your message, don't be afraid to knock on the door. We feed the animals a few times a day, and our pets love attention. You may see us at the pond feeding the ducks, or walking the property, but we will make sure to give you plenty of room and privacy or come and hang out if you feel like a chat. Let us know.

If you're bringing your dog(s) we insist on them being leashed, NO EXCEPTIONS. Please message me directly for our complete pet policies or to answer any questions about pets. We love our animals like family as we are sure you do and only want the best experience for everyone.

Please reach out if you need to check in early or stay later so we can let you know if we can accommodate you. If it is more than 2 hours pre or post check-in or out, there is a 25$ additional service fee.

Pool (closed for season) is maintained regularly; skimmed daily, vacuumed and tested weekly and proper chemicals added. It is covered at dark to keep it warmer, as the weather can be a little cooler up here, but we can keep cover off it you plan on taking a late night swim, please ask. Pool closed (Sept/Oct - April/May depending on weather)
