The host was welcoming and responsive, and we loved the quiet setting with hiking trails right outside the door. We were surprised to find additional rules about pet hair posted inside the house that were not mentioned in the online listing or house rules ahead of time, which caused some unexpected stress. The "pet couch protector" referenced was not available, though we were luckily able to use our own blankets that we happened to have extra of in our car. Overall, future pet owners may want to clarify expectations in advance, as pet hair is generally an expected part of pet-friendly stays. Yet this rental expects guests to keep pets off of most of the furniture and beds. Had we known in advance, we would have either not booked or come more prepared for our dogs to be as comfortable as they are used to. We only hope our thorough cleaning job upon leaving was sufficient for their needs. Also, the rental is on a property with other rentals so you might have neighbors. Not directly next door, but trails and lake are shared with other homes which are relatively close by.
